It "works"
I needed a device that gave the G1 an available audio port while charging via USB.
The device works as advertised, however noise bleeds through on the audio port giving you lots of background noise. This will work ok for my car but I can't imagine listening in a quiet setting and putting up with the background noise.

Fits American plugs well, both double-pronged and grounded plugs, including those with one prong larger than the other. Also takes continental European double-circular plugs. Does exactly what it's suppoesd to.
I actually own an iPhone 3G but case I use lacks room for bigger 3.5mm plugs. This little cable is thin (so I worry about it's longevity) and fits in tight. Now I don't have to cut or sand something down for it to fit.

Exactly what expected..
This was exactly what I expected it to be. It is long enough to view the ipod while it is charging. We use it all the time and it is a great product. The only thing I don't like is the bright blue light when it is charging. It is a little distracting at night. But other then that it is perfect.

Keep in mind that these adapters do not change the voltage! You need a converter for that (if you really need to change the voltage). The U.S. uses 120V at 60Hz where Australia and New Zealand use 240V at 50Hz.
