there is a lot of advanced features of SSIS that I needed to learn, that BOL and Google seraches were not helping with. This book was a great help.
It is advanced, and not meant to be your primary resource or used for learning SSIS.

Just what I needed
I had not touched a DB box in quite a while, and I was recently handed a SQL 2005 box to manage. This book pretty much covered everything I needed. The writing style is laid back and readable, and they get right to the point, without going off on all sorts tangents. The chapter on Automating Administrative Tasks (Chapter 8) was pure gold.

This is the 2nd book of the 4 part "Inside-SQL" series, with each book I imagine, appealing to a different reader. Having a programming background, I enjoyed this book more than the first in the series ("The Storage Engine"), which on it's own is also an excellent book.

The best book for beginners
This is the best and most comperehensive book for beginners and advanced programmers alike.
I changed to this book half way into Sql Server 2005 for dummies and find language and examples used really easy to understand as if we are learning this in a class room.
So if you want to graduate from a simpleton to a SQL Server 2005 expert this is the best book recommended.A+ marks.

I have read around 25 SQL 7/2000/2005 books including all 3 books and 1 pamphlet from Kalen Delaney. This is by far the best Kalen Delaney book and one of the best SQL 2005 books.

This book is about average. With that I am not implying that it is a bad book but rather that you could find the same information on the Internet just by googling a little bit. I guess I was expecting to find something really clever in it, something that it would make it more useful that simple internet articles. Again, not a bad book but also not one that will make the difference.
