Newbie pointer: Ch. 3 & 7 are all about server and server core. Ch. 3 tells how to install both. Ch. 7 tells how to configure at the gui or command line. There's literally hundreds of command line examples throughout the book too. Plus once you install the tools on another box, like it says, you can manage using gui from another box.

I have purchase several other Visual Basic books to try to learn Visual Basic, but have found the beginnings confusing. I have previously coded in older Basic, Fortran & Cobal, thus know the general principles for computer languages.
Murach is much better and has a good index to find things as I go along. I think it is the best book I've found for the money to learn Visual Basic.
