Wonderful Introduction to the Spirituals!
This is a wonderful introduction to the beautiful art form, the Spiritual. Bryan's selection is broad and include familiar tunes along with those not so widespread. The colors are inviting and seem to dance along with the melodic melodies of the notes.

simply stated... REQUIRED READING
In the preface of the book the author states, "The author feels that many of the insights were given him by the personal ministry of the Holy Spirit through the Word." ...to this I could not agree more. Outside of the Bible, this was one of the most enlightening books (if not the most) I have ever read concerning SO MANY vital aspects of a Christian's walk with God. In a nutshell, the author ...

Whole World By Christopher Corr & Fred Penner This little book has more than meets the eye. Using the familiar song by the same name along with a sing-along CD, the book's pictures and words introduce the young child to the concept of the whole earth and different places and peoples and how we should lovingly appreciate and take care of it. At the end of the book is an excellent section for ...

"Wide Open Spaces of God" excellent reading!
Beth Booram's book is both deep and practical in guiding us toward a closer experience of God. It is soul searching for my personal devotional use as well as an excellent tool for small group interaction. Great questions. Beth seems to speak from her personal insights and experiences as well as from accurate study of The Bible. I would highly recommend it.

Joseph Campbell meets Barry Lopez
This book held my attention and is a rich experience in the geography, history, comparative religion and spirituality of the Great Basin. If the mythologist Joseph Campbell sat down with the poet Barry Lopez the resulting discussion might look a lot like this book. Yet the book is richer than such a discussion because of Francaviglia's rich nuances and deeply personal take on the Great Basin. ...

This is a great book! Very different from all of those superficial magazines that don't give you any real advice on living your life. 'Soul Searching' is well written, well researched, well organized, has cute drawings, and gives great advice. 'Soul Searching' has great variety in its subjects. A Must Read for those who are hurting from Spiritual abuse
What a great book. The authors go to great lengths to describe a problem that many believers experience. Buy this book, and it will open your eyes to what the Holy Spirit has been speaking to you for years. You'll feel refreshed, and alot will make sense. If you are in a place that is abusing you, and you feel defeated, accused, and lost your joy in the Lord, this book will help you identify the ...

Be still and know that I am God
A friend gave me this book as a gift, and I love it! Each set of pages has a few scriptures, a small prayer and a 'devotional' (which I usally skip honestly). To find a quiet place every day and to meditate on one or two scriptures is a good place to start. Through reading this book I am getting a better understanding of God's personal love for ME.

an innovative way to read the Gospels
This is a wonderfully readable book that should appeal to a number of different audiences. It is an excellent way for people searching for a deeper understanding of Sacred Scripture, particularly the Gospels, but who are not looking for an overly scholarly approach or academic explanation of the text. There are several layers to the writing that in other hands could have proved awkward and ...

ANOTHER GEM FROM FREDERICK BUECHNER
This is the third of Buechner's works I have read, and I have loved and devoured them all. The author takes us breathtakingly into the life and times of Brendan, a 6th century Irish saint -- Brendan the Navigator, as he is known by many. The language, imagery and power of this novel is astonishing. Brendan's story is related here by his long-time friend and travelling companion Finn -- ...

My Daughter Found This Bool Valuable
My daughter is a tough critic. She reads a lot of books and is not always easy on them. She not only enjoyed this book, but found it useful in thinking about who she was and were she was going. I recommend that parents and grandparents gift this book to the daughters and grand daughters.
