Summer Bridge Activities: 1st to 2nd Grade 12 reviews Julia Ann Hobbs, Carla Fisher
Rainbow Bridge Publishing (UT), 2006
Highly Recommended I've bought books in these series for 2 summers in a row now. They are a great way to keep key educational elements alive for your child until they go back to school, without overwhelming them with work during summer vacation. Each day has an assigned lesson and they take 10 - 15 minutes top to complete. There is a reward system so that you can set up a treat or prize if they complete a ...

Summer Bridge Activities: Kindergarten to 1st Grade 12 reviews Julia Ann Hobbs, Carla Fisher
Rainbow Bridge Publishing (UT), 2006
Keeps their minds active during summer break I have three daughters - ages 9, 6 & 3. My 9 year old will be entering 4th grade this year and the 6 year old will be entering 1st. My 9 year old struggled at the start of 2nd grade. It took her almost a whole month to get back into the swing of things. So, last summer I bought a Summer Bridge Activities book for her. She sailed right into 3rd grade. Her teacher agreed that it made a ...

Summer Bridge Activities: 5th to 6th Grade 9 reviews Hobbs Ann Julia, Carla Fisher
Rainbow Bridge Publishing (UT), 2006
Summer Studies = Summer Fun My daughter and I have used this series for five years now. The older she gets the more she enjoys her summer studies. This book is great! It is always broken down into three sections and has reward charts to track progress. We also love the Summer Reading List in the book, and look the books up at our local library. I really enjoy the Better Bodies Better Behavior section and the flash ...

Summer Bridge Activities: Preschool to Kindergarten 5 reviews Julia Ann Hobbs, Carla Fisher
Rainbow Bridge Publishing (UT), 2006
My preschooler loves it This book is not teaching my son anything new but he enjoys it. The book is what it says a review of what they did the year before. I like it because its not difficult for him and he can breeze right through. He does enough work so he doesn't forget what he's learned and each day is very short so I don't lose his attention. The incentive contracts is a great motivation system.

AMACOM, 2003
Quick Team Building Activities Wonderful book. A lot of clever ideas. This book saves me in a pinch when I have time left over after my office meetings. I can just pull out the book and play a moral game with the staff. The book is an easy read and organized well with ideas.

104 Activities That Build: Self-Esteem, Teamwork, Communication, Anger Management, Self-Discovery, Coping ... 38 reviews Alanna Jones
Rec Room Publishing, 1998
Great Resource! I found this book to have some great ideas for group activities that introduce and teach social/emotional skills. As a social worker in a junior high school, I have implemented many of these activites into my daily activities. Highly recommended for teachers, counselors, social workers, etc.

The Toddlers Busy Book 87 reviews Trish Kuffner
Meadowbrook, 1999
Worth the $10.00 Investment As some people have said in the 1-3 star reviews, many of the ideas in this book are no-brainers we could have come up with on our own. I cannot deny that fact, and yet I must say 'kudos!' to the authoress for writing the ideas down and earning an income for her brood as a result! That said, I loved the book. I checked it out at our library and my severe impulse to underline things and fold down ...

Summer Bridge Activities: 6th to 7th Grade 8 reviews Leland Graham, Frankie Long
Rainbow Bridge Publishing (UT), 2006
Top of his class I first purchased the Summer Bridge series for 5th to 6th grade because my son was switching school districts and I was afraid he was going to be a little behind because the curriculum in the new district was more stringent. We used this book throughout the summer to keep his skills as well as to teach skills he hadn't learned yet. My son ended up with a 4.0 and was recommended for Advanced ...

More Quick Team-Building Activities for Busy Managers: 50 New Exercises That Get Results in Just 15 Minutes 2 reviews Brian Cole Miller
AMACOM, 2007
Great follow-up, with one added bonus This book is similar to Miller's first book of teambuilding activities. Once again, all the activities are quick, easy to manage and require few props. Even though I really liked his first book and go to it frequently, I was a bit reluctant to pick this second one up, fearing that maybe these activities weren't on par with the first volume. I was wrong. They are every bit as fun and effective ...

Great resource for school counselors, social worker, teachers I borrowed this book from a co worker to conduct classroom wide activities with kindergarten students. Preschooler's Busy Book: 365 Creative Games & Activities To Occupy 3-6 Year Olds 30 reviews Trish Kuffner
Meadowbrook, 1998
Great book and great ideas Love this book and it provides a lot of great ideas. I use this book to plan play dates, birthday parties, and to plan fun things to do while traveling and staying with family. We use it a lot and my daughter (and friends) really enjoy the projects. Some of the painting projects are ambitious, but the few that we tried were great fun.

Activity Schedules for Children With Autism: Teaching Independent Behavior (Topics in Autism) (Topics in ... 13 reviews Lynn E., Ph.D. McClannahan, Patricia J., Ph.D. Krantz
Woodbine House, 1999
Appropriate goals. The goal of raising any child is to guide them into independance, and though many autistic children will never reach complete independance, it remains an important goal. Independance is an important factor in self-esteem and is essential for entering any portion of adult life. I was consistantly frustrated with therapy manuals which required my complete and undivided attention at all times. ...

Team-Building Activities for Every Group 21 reviews Alanna Jones
Rec Room Publishing, 2000
The best activity book I'm a peer facilitator, and this is definitely the best group activity book that I've used. I've always gotten the best response from the activities in this book...they seem to be the most fun for the kids to do, while still teaching important lessons. The book is also very easy to read and understand.
My fellow Peer facilitators and I have about 25 different activity books to choose from, and ...

Great Resource!! This book series is the perfect balance between a scripted, rigid history program and a completely unstructured approach to teaching history. I use it in a homeschooling history coop group with 6 girls, age 5-8. We have a great time. I use the study questions, we fill out the map, and then we do a craft. We enjoyed forming the Nile river with dirt and rocks, building an "ancient home" ...
