A Literary Address Book (Stay in Touch)10 reviews
Jeffrey Fisher

Chronicle Books, 1998

Wonderful!!
I bought this for my mom since she hadn't updated her address book for probably 30 years. Her eyes are not the best and this book is nice and big. It's small enough that it can fit into a purse but big enough to be quickly found. It's hard cover with a nice covering over the binding. Easy to open and close, nice sturdy pages to write on. My sisters and I all wrote out addresses in the book ...

Lotta Jansdotter: Address Book (Lotta Jansdotter)4 reviews
Lotta Jansdotter

Chronicle Books, 2004

Perfect Address Book
The pages are made of thick paper so you can erase easily when someone moves. There is plenty of space to write even international addresses. It is hip looking and has great artwork on the dividers between each letter. I bought this for myself, and have since bought 2 more for gifts. Great for graduation presents when people are moving. Looks more expensive than it is.

The Right Address: A Novel105 reviews
Carrie Karasyov, Jill Kargman

Broadway, 2005

The Right Address
I thought the book was really good. It was a little different. You were told the story from many different people so you were able to see how they really felt. Definitely interesting and it had a great ending.

Dots and Stripes Address Book10 reviews

GMG Publishing, 2005

Great-looking address book for adult use!
I wanted a new address book that was adult-appropriate without being a boring business style. Surprisingly, finding something that fit the bill was a tough task; many of the available products were too cutesy or too inconvenient, with tiny, virtually unusable lines. Luckily, I stumbled across this beautifully chic Dots and Stripes Address Book. Here are some of the many well-made features of ...

Boho Address Book5 reviews

Avalanche Publishing, 2005

Like the Layout.
This book fits my needs. I prefer address books that open perfectly flat -- my favorite was one with a binder comb opening -- but if you don't mind forcing this one flat, to me the page "layout" is perfect. I personally don't like address books with dedicated spaces for name, address, home, work, fax, cell, kids' names, comments, etc. What about those entries for which you only need one ...

Address Unknown22 reviews
Kathrine Kressmann Taylor

Washington Square Press, 2001

This should be required reading
Sixty years later, apologists for the slow American response to the holocaust say that, gee, we just had no idea until the camps were liberated at the end of the war. Not so. In 1938, Katherine Kressman Taylor published the short story ADDRESS UNKNOWN in Story Magazine. Its popularity inspired a stand alone hardcover release the following year. The critics could not say enough. They and those ...

Truly Our Founding Father
George Washington uncannily warned our fledgling country of the Civil War and the National Debt in this marvelous piece. It should be mandatory reading for any elected official.

The Inaugural Addresses of the Presidents: Revised and Updated2 reviews

Gramercy, 1997

accessing to american history...
'The Inaugural Address of the Preidents' is one of the few nonficton books I've read. I read it not wanting to be one-sided regarding books(most books I have read are fiction), and trying to get a clearer image on the presidents I have not known well. This book, besides the inaugural addresses, has a short writing about the president in each election. The inaugural address may be just an ...

Best Addresses2 reviews
James Goode

Smithsonian, 2003

My favourite book
Best Addresses surprised me. It's much larger than I expected, and extremely handsome in its own right. James Goode is so passionate about these apartment houses, and writes eloquently about not only the buildings, but the people who lived there. I found myself in tears when I came across an especially beautiful building, with exquisite architectural details, only to read the caption 'STATUS: ...

They Hated to Spread Gossip Address Book3 reviews
Anne Taintor

Chronicle Books, 2003

Love Anne Taintor!
I love all the products from Anne Taintor. I think they are witty, and they always make me laugh no matter how many times I have seen the image before. I think the address book captures some of her funniest images (there is a picture at each letter/section change). I especially love the "They hated to spread gossip" on the cover! The address book is also well made. The muted colors, ...

The Address of the Eye: A Phenomenology of Film Experience
Vivian Sobchack

Princeton University Press, 1991

Cinema is a sensuous object, but in our presence it becomes also a sensing, sensual, sense-making subject. Thus argues Vivian Sobchack as she challenges basic assumptions of current film theory that reduce film to an object of vision and the spectator to a victim of a deterministic cinematic apparatus. Maintaining that these premises ignore the material and cultural-historical situations of both the spectator and the film, the author makes the ...
