Self Defense-Another great novel by Jonathan Kellerman
Jonathan Kellerman again hits the mark with this thrilling tale of repressed memories regurgitating after a juror sits in on a murder trial. His use of logical deduction in bringing the reader to the final climax is reminiscent of Arthur Conan Doyles best works in Sherlock Holmes mysteries. I enjoyed this book so much that every re-reading still has to be done in one sitting--the tale grips your ...

Can't put this book down!!
I am a big fan of Jonathan Kellerman. And, I have read nearly every one of his books. They are always a complicated journey of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. And, some sadness at the end because you have to wait some time for his next book. All of his books are top-notched. Big recommendation!!!!

Silent but Deadly
I have read all of the Alex Delaware books and am eagerly awaiting his next, it made me want more of this interesting character! I have since read all his fiction novels, and love them all, but still think "Silent Partner" the best. So many odd twists and turns, not even the best arm chair detective can anticipate the plot. It held my attention from first word to the last, and I hated to see it ...

Okay, I really like Alex Delaware
This is the third Alex Delaware novel written by Jonathan Kellerman, but it's the second one I've read. The first one I read was a much more recent novel (Therapy) and was kind of slow going at first, but this one had me hooked on page one! Alex Delaware is an intriguing character and it makes a nice twist to have a crime novel told by someone more on the fringe of the investigation. ...

Jonathan Kellerman does it again!
As usual, Jonathan Kellerman writes a suspenseful yet compellingly human story. The way he weaves the story line of Alex Delaware and his personal interactions with other characters is always believable. A great read.

A SERIAL KILLER IS ON THE LOOSE...
I loved this whodunit! It is intricately plotted, has well-fleshed, interesting characters, and presents the reader with enough twists and turns to satisfy any mystery junkie. This well-written, intriguing mystery is sure to satisfy the armchair sleuth. The book centers on Hollywood homicide detective, Petra Connor. Fans of the author will be familiar with this character, who takes center ...

A Devil of a read
Another classic from Kellerman! Kellerman's psychologist/sleuth Alex Delaware nimbly executes tricky steps of his own when called in to consult on the mysterious ailments afflicting a baby being seen at his training hospital in Los Angeles. In his seventh appearance (after Private Eyes ), Delaware is in top form, carefully pursuing the possibility that 21-month-old Cassie Jones may be the victim ...

Funhouse of Horror for boy
I'm intoxicated with Alex Delaware, but this novel with new heroine Petra Connor left me dying for more! Billy Straight, 12, is another character I'd like to see Kellerman follow in more novels. This boy made me at times shake my head at how sad it is for a 12-year-old to be so worldly, and at other times want to wrap my arms around him for the naivite he also displayed. The boy seemed to ...

The best Alex Delaware novel I've read
While I haven't read many of Jonathan Kellerman's novels featuring Dr. Alex Delaware (a child psychologist who does consulting for the local police, and often ends up playing detective), this one is best. The title, which I understand, after reading the book, might be a mistake, as it suggests themes that are not in the book. The book starts with Dr. Delaware being asked to evaluate two ...

An incredible read
I stumbled onto Jonathan Kellerman peripherally, since I enjoy his wife's novels. Although I have read Private Eyes out of order of the Alex Delaware series, I didn't have any trouble accepting it as a stand-alone novel, nor did I feel there was something missing by not having read the earlier novels. The book had a bit of the feel of an adventure or mystery computer game, where you just keep ...

What is this book about?? Have you prejudged it?
This is a great book that doesn't srop coming at you. A book written by Jonathan Kellerman, who is a Child Psychiatrist from UCLA and now he has taken what he knows about what we call "The Bad Seed" type children to "Demon Seed", and combines them with unusual murders and crimes against nature that you and I would never think about! Jonathan, also a PhD graduate of U.of Miss. and has written ...

Engaging Performance on Books on CD
I gave up on J. Kellerman some years ago and only picked this up on CD at the library when I failed to put something of more interest on my reserve list in time. Far from it being a fill-in, I'm loving the book. The reader is a wonderful performer. Like Jim Dale, he gives each character a different voice, and does an excellent job. I read about 1/2 other-readers comments and the capsule ...

REFRESHING!
I purchased this novel nearly ten years ago. At the time of the purchase, I did not realize that it was a series. So, this book lay gathering dust on my bookshelf, until one day I completely ran out of novels to read. I picked it up, and I was captivated after the first few pages. I didn't want to start the book without reading the ones prior. Fortunately, Jonathan Kellerman is a good enough ...

ANOTHER ALEX DELAWARE HIT!
Having read all the previous Alex Delaware mysteries, starting this book felt like a good friend coming to visit. I know all the "good guy" players and I'm happy to see them again. The mystery part is always good and keeps me guessing--I read for entertainment and really don't try very hard to guess. All in all, I wasn't disappointed by Alex Delaware. However, I do think he's not paying ...

This one deserves 6 or 7 stars!
Man, but this one is a gut-wrencher! Total angst-fest! On the one hand, we have Alex trying to lose himself in this case in order to escape from his own misery now that Robin has left him (again) and on the other hand, we have Milo wallowing in his own fear and self-loathing when those close to him are threatened. Dr. Alex Delaware receives a notebook labeled "The Murder Book" in the mail. No ...

OHMYGOSH!
This one is sooooooo GOOD! First off, several characters from other book series pop up in this one. We meet an Israeli detective named Daniel Sharavi who first appeared in J Kellerman's non-Delaware novel The Butcher's Theater; we meet Hollywood detective Petra Connor who would go on to have her own series (well, two books of her own so far: Billy Straight and Twisted), and there is even a ...

Typical Kellerman, interesting, too long, enjoyable
Rage is another novel by Jonathan Kellerman featuring psychologist Alex Deleware and police detective Milo Sturgis. Eight years ago, Deleware consulted on a case where two young boys, barely teenagers, brutally murdered a two year old toddler. Delaware has long forgotten about the case until recently, when one of the killers, now 20 and out of prison, calls Delaware and asks for a meeting. The ...
