Best book and DVD for my course I will be soon training to administer local anesthesia in the dental office where I work as a periodontal co-therapist. Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia 1 review Diane McKelvey, K. Wayne Hollingshead
Mosby, 2003
Great book! I had an opportunity to look through this book when a fellow vet tech student borrowed it to use for our Surgery class. It has ALOT of helpful information and was particularly beneficial for me in regards to monitoring during surgery and how to handle surgical emergencies (hypoxemia, hypovolemia, etc.). I would definitely recommend getting this book!

A A Practical Approach to Cardiac Anesthesia (Practical Approach) 3 reviews
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007
Essential Book for Cardiac Anesthesia Practitioner During our clinical practice in a teaching hospital in Istanbul, Turkey; I found the previous editions of this book very useful. I ordered my first book from [...] to receive the 2008 edition in January 2008. I have done a correct decision. This is an up-to-date, valuable practical book for Cardiac Anesthesiologist; as well as for residents who recently start to learn Cardiac Anesthesia. The ...

Clinical Anesthesia (Clinical Anesthesia ( Barash)) 7 reviews
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2005
A Barash Follower In Anesthesiology they say you are either a "Barash Person" or a "Miller Person." It is my personal opinion that Barash does probably the best job at providing content that is relevant and devoid of minutia. All sections contain material that is optimal for reading and assimilation. The text is large, yet it is far from dry. I highly recommend this as "The" backbone text for Anesthesiology!

Nurse Anesthesia Pocket Guide 2 reviews f Lynn Fitzgerald Macksey
Jones & Bartlett Publishers, 2007
If Morgan/Mikhail is the bible, then this is the hymnal! I am a student of nurse anesthesia and I have been looking far and wide for a portable, concise source of information that can accompany me to clinicals; I have finally found it in Lynn Macksey's Nurse Anesthesia Pocket Guide. I used to carry at least 5 books with me but now I only carry Macksey's guide and Morgan/Mikhail (and I'll take Macksey's peds guide too depending on my cases). Her guide ...

Trauma Anesthesia
Cambridge University Press, 2008
Trauma patients present unique challenges to anesthesiologists. Acute injuries require resource intensive care and are often complex cases especially when coupled with underlying, preexisting medical conditions. Anesthesiologists are involved with trauma patients beginning with airway and shock resuscitation, continuing with intraoperative care during surgery, and extending on to pain management and critical care post-operatively. This new ...

Textbook of Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management 2 reviews Admir Hadzic
McGraw-Hill Professional, 2006
The Definative Source on Regional Anesthesia After patiently waiting for it's release I was thrilled to get my copy of "Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management" edited by Admir Hadzic. Finally there is a true textbook of regional anesthesia not simply a step-by-step instruction manuel for performing a block. That information is of course included (in the terrific fashion we have come to expect from NYSORA) but it is completmented by ...

Understanding Anesthesia Equipment 1 review Jerry A Dorsch, Susan E Dorsch
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007
Better off? An inevitable must for all new residents coming into the world of anaesthesia and medical technology.
Each new edition of the book gets more and more modern equipment oriented - losing out on the simplistic educational value of the older equipment. The gradual loss of the Non-rebreathing valves, from the second edition followed by Goldman vaporizer, EMO, OMV etc has reduced the level of 'ease of ...

Handbook of Anesthesiology 2008 10 reviews Mark R. Ezekiel
Current Clinical Strategies, 2007
Good anesthesia reference This book is an excellent and concise reference for anesthesia personnel. It however has a horrible binding, which is not a fault of Amazon but the publisher/printer. Every colleague that has this book has told me that they have HAD to spiral bind (including myself) b/c the book falls apart after opening only a few times...this is also what happened to my book. Just be aware if you buy the book, ...

lovely text I am a CRNAP practicing in an ansethesia group that does a great deal of regional anesthesia. We have developed a library of texts to be used for reference/review. Avoiding Common Anesthesia Errors (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Handbook) 2 reviews
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007
Great book. Very practical and easy to read This is a great book. It has a lot of practical advice that has clinical applications, not just theory. This is what makes the book different from many of the other anesthesia texts. In addition there are 2 sections of the book that many other books don't cover: how to go about looking for jobs/assessing a practice you might join, and also medical coding and payment. The book is quite easy to ...
