Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life (P.S.)296 reviews
Barbara Kingsolver, Camille Kingsolver, ...

Harper Perennial, 2008

Eat me!
Barbara Kingsolver's lyric prose is so fun to read, and it's good for you too! It's heartening to see the locavore movement get such attention on a national scale. Maybe American food culture isn't doomed after all. The inserts from her family are entertaining, but sometimes awkwardly placed. I can't wait to lend this out to my friends.

The Kissing Hand110 reviews
Audrey Penn

Tanglewood Press, 2006

A Very Good Book
I bought this book because my daughter bought one at her school for "us" when she was very young(separated because of divorce), it was lost in a move and it had sentimental value for both of us...it's not "the one" she bought, but it's just as good and in great condition.

Now I know why I've been having problems!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0307337332/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title I have been a 25-year dog owner and rescuer. Before a career ending injury, the majority of dogs that I rescued where found out in the country where I delivered mail. People would just dump them or move and abandon their dogs. I spent fortunes getting them back in good health, but because of them being abandoned, most of ...

The Unofficial Guide Walt Disney World 2009 (Unofficial Guides)7 reviews
Bob Sehlinger, Len Testa

Wiley, 2008

A great resource
This venerable Walt Disney World guidebook covers all the bases... and then goes further. It has a no-nonsense, cynical tone that is refreshing and sometimes funny. Anyone planning a visit to Disney will benefit from it. Sound strange coming from a competitor? Well, it shouldn't. Though I am the author of The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World, the two books approach Disney from different ...

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle: A Novel253 reviews
David Wroblewski

Ecco, 2008

Exquisite writing
Exquisitely wrought. I share common opinions with all of the reviewers who have given this unique and unforgettable book a 5 star rating. Having just finished the book this morning, I am haunted by images that will no doubt remain in my mind for a long time. I thought of the childhood animal stories I read: "Call of the Wild," "Lassie Come Home", even "Bambi." This book is written for children of ...

Kim Barnouin, Rory Freedman

Running Press, 2005

This book totally changed my life
I have read this book 4 times and I now have it on an audio book as well to listen to the wealth of information. I am so excited about it that I am telling everyone that I know about the book and I have been giving them away as life changing gifts. I didn't by the book to "get skinny" I bought this book because it was floating around out office and I thought that the title was catchy. Low and ...

Guess How Much I Love You288 reviews
Sam McBratney

Candlewick, 1996

This Book Makes Me Smile
I love this story. I find myself smiling and getting that warm, fuzzy feeling as the father rabbit and son exchange conversation about how much they love each other, each one topping the other's love. This is one of the first books that I bought for my son because it tells of the boundless love that a parent has for their children. Truly, one of the sweetest children's books ever written. ...

Kevin Henkes is Great
Do you what to buy a book you'll love to read? If you do, you should read Chrysanthemum By Kevin Henkes. Kevin Henkes is a good author. Chrysanthemum is a good children's book. If you are a mom you should read it to your child. They might love it like a favorite book. In the book Chrysanthemum loved her name until she went to school. The kids teased Chrysanthemum and said "you're named after a ...

Harry Potter Schoolbooks Box Set: From the Library of Hogwarts: Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, ...450 reviews
J.K. Rowling

Arthur A. Levine Books, 2001

fantastic beasts & where to find them; quidditch through the ages
Both of these books are great for Harry Potter enthusiasts. "Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them" is especially neat because there are notes from Harry, Ron, & Hermoine scribbled in the book that will give you a good laugh. I'd love to see more books like these 2, possibly a Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook. Hopefully, J. K. Rowling will also write the encyclopedia that she hinted at.

Animal Farm (Signet Classics)1151 reviews
George Orwell

Signet Classics, 1996

Utopian Idealism Unmaksed
It is the rare political book that is both entertaining and thought provoking. Rarer still to be unforgettable and insightful and life-changing. Animal Farm, for me was all this. The allogory is powerful and the use of farm animals both clever and entertaining, and helped makes the story all the more vivid and memorable. The story is well know, a group of farm animals eventually led by the ...
