Great book!
Love this story. My son already had Panda Bear Panda Bear, and loved that.. We bought this one, he loves it equally as much. He is 2 and loves the animals at the end of the story, and loves that fact that he can "read" it to us after he learns the animals. Great book, we are going to be buying the others by the this author.

Calvin and Hobbes! 'Nuff said!
The strips themselves are fun but the added commentary from Bill Watterson is icing on the cake. It helps understand the characters even more. A must for Calvin and Hobbes fans.

I still love this book, 18 years later
I'm almost 30 years old and I still remember this heart-wrenching story. I love a good book that makes me cry, and apparently I've loved them since I was young. I will always remember this book being so good that I finally decided to track it down after all these years. Read this book. It'll make you cry, but you'll love it.

I LOVE this book!
I bought this to keep at my house for my grandchildren and I to enjoy. They all live out of town and it is nice to have something here they don't have at home. But there are so many cute poems, I find myself calling my 3 year granddaughter on the phone and reading a short poem to her. What a great memory I have - even though she may not remember it! :-)

All Creatures Great and Small
This CD has been brilliantly recorded by Christopher Timothy who was James Herriot in the original PBS series, All Creatures Great and Small. I am trying to listen only in half hour segments in order to stretch the listening as long as possible. There are times I laugh out loud and times that I tear up. We watched the original series on television and have the video collection as well. I ...

Tremendous Insight into American History
It's been a few years since I read this book, but I still remember it vividly. This autobiographical rememberance of one man's service in Vietnam is quite memorable. Anyone who thinks the U.S. should be sending soldiers to fight in the Middle East and Asia should definitely read this book for perspective. One of the main things I got out of this book was that there are just some wars that not are ...

Inspiring and helpful, good details
This is a good book. I like how specific and detailed the information is -- that is what I was looking for. I have a feeling I'll be referring to this book again and again. While I already knew about the advantages of raised beds and compost (who doesn't?), this book is organized well so that I can find specific info about each type of fruit/veggie I might plant. I also liked seeing how he ...

Perfect book for a family car trip
We read this book on a long car trip to our 4 year old. The DNA/genetics parts were over his head (although we likened cells to Legos and DNA to blueprints), but the rest of it was thoroughly understood and enjoyed. It kept us all completely engrossed and wondering what was going to happen next, which is a great way to pass time on a long road trip. The Professor's exercises for Lindy and her ...

Absolutely worked for us, can't recommend enough!
I can't recommend this book enough, whether you are trying to conceive or avoid pregnancy. I wish every girl was taught this information growing up. As a woman, you should know what's going on with your body, including what's normal and what's not! This book really does put you in charge. I read the book in May 2009 and began charting that month, in the hopes of conceiving our first. We ...

Amazing!!!
I brought home 10 books from the library tonight, and both of my kids (twins, age 3) fought over this book. It is the oldest and smallest of all of the books I brought home, reminding me that this is a classic for a reason! They liked the small size, because they both hold their books facing outward, the way I do when I read to them. I honestly cannot say what they liked the most about this ...

A Treasure!
I've made so many wonderful loaves from this book, but stayed away from whole wheat recipes until today. In the past, my whole wheat breads have come out heavy and tasteless - but today with Clayton's "Sesame Nut Bread," I made the best whole wheat bread I've ever had! This man is some kind of baking genius and his 200+ recipes and shared knowledge are well-worth the price.

Sweet re-telling of the Nativity
This is a warm and tender version of the birth of Christ. its main theme is that Jesus came not only to seek out the lost, but He uses even the least of us for his kingdom. All children need to know that they are indeed precious creations, lovingly endowed by God with special gifts. This book is a hit with my 3-year-old class, and it is good to read to older children, as well.

A Must for AW fans
Anyone who watched this soap will enjoy this book. Since this soap was taken from us on the 35th anniversary, this book has even more meaning. You will get to relive the highlights and story lines now missing from our daily lives. I get mine out about every 6 months - or whenever I need a Bay City fix. Looking through the book always manages to bring tears or laughter to me.

Love is like poison oak, once you get it, it drives you crazy, and it spreads to others
As a fellow fisherman, a hobby of mine, I have read a river runs through it, seen the movie and love both. I really enjoyed this book, this book is for all ages, it's a coming of age story of sorts, and does deal with fishing! Duncan engrosses the reader with his words, his meditation on fishing and asking some tough questions as for our protagonist Gus, Why am I here? What is it all about? This ...

Great stories for youngsters
I've been reading "My Father's Dragon" and "Elmer's Dragon" to my preschoolers for years. It's a good way to introduce chapter books to young kids. The chapters are short enough and exciting enough to hold their attention. I was excited to purchase "Three Tales of My Father's Dragon" all in one book. My copies of the first two books are so well-read that they literally falling apart. The ...

Good memories from childhood...
I had to purchase this one for my children, because I loved this book so much as a child. I was surprised sometimes by the innuendo that I didn't get as a child but totally get as an adult. My first time to read and laugh at these stories as a child, I remember fondly, was in fourth grade and I enjoyed being able to share them again with my children.

Absolutely enchanting
I borrowed this book from the university's library, and I enjoyed it very much. Alan Lee and Brian Froud are among my favorite artists; the illustrations are incredibly beautiful, and the history and the folklore was very interesting. Finally, a true portrayal of faeries! A lot of people complain that the book is "too dark" and "too ugly" of a portrayal on faeries. The interesting thing about ...
