How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive 19 Ed: A Manual of Step-by-Step Procedures for the Compleat Idiot 112 reviews John Muir, Tosh Gregg
Avalon Travel Publishing, 2001
This is a fine book.... This is a really good book if you are into doing your own VW repairs (most owners of old VW's pretty much need to be somewhat mechanically inclined and this book will definately help). The book is written in an easy to read fun format, has had numerous updates over the years and covers just about any issue you'll be dealing with. I think this is a must have for any VW owner. A+

Books: A Memoir 21 reviews Larry McMurtry
Simon & Schuster, 2008
A Great Book for Bibliophiles McMurtry provides an interesting peek into the life of a "bookman", a person who collects and deals in valuable books. He describes his beginnings in a bookless household and how he developed a love for reading and writing, and how he moved into the world of book dealing. Bookmen are a unique lot and one wonders how they manage to make a good living consistently, although one can see how the ...

The Billionaire's Vinegar: The Mystery of the World's Most Expensive Bottle of Wine 39 reviews Benjamin Wallace
Crown, 2008
caveat emptor as good as an Ian Rankin mystery! If you have ever bought or sold anything at auction, this is
required reading. It's a great story...runs from Jefferson to the nuclear age without missing a beat!
Fraud? it's there. Greed? it's there. Ego? it's there. Revenge? it's there.
LIke a fine wine, it is very good upon entry, improves in the middle and finishes
long and memorable!

The Official Red Book: A Guide Book of United States Coins 2009 (Guide Book of United States Coins (Spiral)) ... 14 reviews R. S. Yeoman
Whitman Publishing, 2008
For Coin Collectors I've relied on older editions of the Official Red Book for information about various coins that I've seen. Having been a coin collector since I was a child, I decided to purchse this book to see what information has changed or been updated. From time to time, I've found unexpected coins in my change and I enjoy being able to look them up to see what they are, what historical period they might ...

State Series Quarters Collector Map (State Series) 43 reviews
Whitman Pub Llc, 2006
Absolutely Wonderful Product I cannot say enough good about this product. I have been reading reviews on others quarter collecting albums and had settled on buying this one, then they ran out of them. I was really upset, but because of my procrastination, they got in a new shipment by the time I was ready to order something else. I am so glad I chose these. I have 3 children ages 13, 10 and 6. Each one of them loves ...

Axel Vervoordt: Timeless Interiors 8 reviews Armelle Baron
Flammarion, 2007
Interior Integrity & Grandeur Lives... Vervoordt's peaceful environments invade space with mood. The resulting grandeur of such tranquil beauty and gentle sophistication is most admirable and thoroughly revealed in this beautifully accessorized volume. Leafing through this book will calm your design sensitivities, as period inpressions drift from page to page. The dramatic and dimly lit photos featured here capture the essence of ...

Fifty State Commemorative Quarter Folder: Deluxe Edition 1999-2008 63 reviews et al Whitman Coin Book and Supplies, Whitman Coin
Whitman Coin Products, 2000
Looks great, a lot of good information about the states, easy use I really liked this product. It is nicely made, and provides a lot of interesting information about each state. Some of the quarters were hard to get in, but if you push against them with your thumb, it works well. And once the quarters are in, they don't fall out, unlike with other folders. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Late Show Fun Facts 6 reviews David Letterman, The Late Show Writers
Hyperion, 2008
GREAT BOOK IF YOU LIKE THE SHOW This is a great book - but you have to like the show. Unlike the other review I read, he or she is obviously not a David Letterman fan. Well I am and if you are pick up this book! It is hilarious. Read it on the subway, the toilet, the doctor's office waiting room, or during some boring sex (it will definitely spice it up!)

Wacky Packages 23 reviews The Topps Company
Abrams, 2008
From Wacky to Zippy As one of the cartoonists who created a few of the Wacky Packages shown in the book, my view of the project is far from objective---but I thought it was fun to see such pop ephemera resurface 34 years later as an Abrams art book! Who would've thought, back in 1974, as I cruised the aisles of the San Francisco Safeway with Art Spiegelman, hunting for likely targets, that our little barbs sent at ...

Practical Watch Repairing 16 reviews Donald de Carle
Skyhorse Publishing, 2008
Mechanical watch repair I am amazed that this book (my edition printed in 2006) is an exact copy of a 1971 printing. Mechanical watches of today are readily described in this 35 year old text.
The 1971 dust jacket has hand drawn lettering. The 2006 dust jacket has been cleaned up by computer aided drawing. It was amazing to find out that the author passed away in 1989. He unfortunately lived long enough to see ...

2008 Standard Catalog of Firearms: The Collector's Price and Reference Guide (Standard Catalog of Firearms) 9 reviews Dan Shideler
Krause Publications, 2008
GREAT REFERENCE! This book presents a great overview of firearms both modern and antique. I've found it to be a great way to quickly locate information on a surprising array of weapons. While usually unable to give a lot of in-depth information on individual arms, it does give a quick overview with very pertinent details included. I've been very impressed by how many firearms, especially antique and ...

500 Pendants & Lockets: Contemporary Interpretations of Classic Adornments (500 Series) 3 reviews Lark Books
Lark Books, 2008
Pure Magic With few exceptions, I enjoy the Lark "500" series of books, Pendants and Lockets is no different. Sticking to the photos only with minimal wording publication concept, this is not a "how to" book it simply showcases a veritable smorgasboard of amazing contemporary designs. The enormous range of materials used to create these pieces is appreciated, nothing seems to have been left out. Of course ...
