The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (Eighteenth Edition) 5 reviews
Harvard Law Review Association, 2005
A truly evocative and powerful effort Let's be honest. A lot of people felt that Bluebook had fallen off. After that award show confrontation with ALWD and the concealed weapons charges, Bluebook looked like they were on the ropes. That only makes this 18th edition more triumphant for the Bluebook. A stunning return to the form that made them such an irresistible bunch of ragamuffins to begin with, Bluebook has a sure answer to the ...

Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 225 reviews American Psychological Association
American Psychological Association (APA), 2001
A great writing resource! This book is proving to be a valuable resource for outlining the writing "rules of the road". I'm in the midst of writing my doctoral dissertation and the APA Manual has proved extremely useful for learning the proper way to cite references from various sources (like telephone conversations), use combinations of unusual punctuation (should the comma go inside or outside this parentheses?), and ...

How to Write a Lot: A Practical Guide to Productive Academic Writing 32 reviews Paul J. Silvia

1500 words per day I read this book in early May. On May 7, I began writing my dissertation proposal. On June 6 (today), I turned it in; it is 106 pages (including several figures and tables) and contains over 25,000 words.
On the days I wrote, I averaged over 1500 words per day. On the days I didn't write, I still had Writing Hours, and worked on the figures, tables, references, etc. Without this book, I would ...

Great high school resource Andrew Peach and Lucien Longtin, SJ provide a succinct but rich overview of Catholic ethics for high school students. The language is accessible yet rooted in the scholarship of secular philosophy (Aristotle, Kant, Mill) and Christian morality (Magisterium, Natural Law, Scripture). Many of the examples take their cue from cultural phenomena and invite student reflection on their own experience ...

Great book for "almost teens" I got this book for my 10 year old son. It is a good book with all the "needed" information, but yet isn't too detailed on things they don't need to know about YET. It was very well written & I think it a good starting point for families w/young boys.
