Evil3 reviews
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2002

A departure from the usual short shrift given to Evil
THE Book for any player or GM who wants to present a character as truly evil, or to understand Evil itself, the book "Evil" deals with evil characters, evil NPCs, evil monsters, evil devils and demons, and -- above all -- with the evil which lurks within us all. Moral dilemmas are brought up which challenge the reader's pre-expectations, and place "evil" characters" and "creatures" in a more ...

Swashbuckling Adventures2 reviews
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2002

High adventure with pirates, Musketeers, and sea battles
This is a great RPG you get to choose from many many new classes that expand the D&D universe into the mid 1600's the age of the rapier and dueling. muskets are the technology of the day and pirates sails the worlds oceans looking for loot to plunder and ships to capture. Burried treasure is to be found and the likes of the Dread Pirate Roberts, Captain Blood, and Black Beard are about along with ...

Toolbox2 reviews

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2003

Good value for the money
A very useful book for the harried DND 3.0 GM. IF you like charts for when you are stymied for an idea, this is it. A plethora of data-packed D20 charts for NPC's, cities, towns, encounters (a little weak there - I am waiting for the book of encounter tables from Necromancer Games) (I am not sure if it is compatible with 3.5, though as I am just buying the new books)

Stargate SG-1 Role Playing Game: Core Rulebook (d20)1 review
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2003

So close to perfect it hurts
For the most part I absolutely adore this game. The setting is one of my favorites (the "Stargate SG-1" TV show universe is dead-on perfect as an RPG setting). The system (adapted d20; you'll need the "Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook, third edition) is wonderful--in particular it's stunningly detailed, allows characters to try virtually anything, and is quite flexible. It's simple enough to ...

Creatures of the Rokugan2 reviews
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2003

A fun sourcebook
My only problem with this book is that it seems useable almost exclusively for the Rokugan setting. As the title of the book sort of gives that away, I figure it's only fair to take off only one star for this minor flaw in an otherwise remarkable beastiary. This opinion rests chiefly on the inclusion of the Taint statistic, which is really only useful in Rokugan. To be fair, it can be removed, ...

Monster1 review
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2002

A great source book
Orcs,goblins,gnolls...chances are that if you play D&D you've either defeated dozens of these classic enimies or have placed dozens for other players to defeat. By the time Pcs are past the first quater of level advancement these beasties pose almost no threat when not encountered by the hundreds. But with this book that all changes. It presents most of the savage humanoids(if not all)from the ...

Secrets of the Scorpion (L5r)1 review

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2003

L5R SECRETS OF THE SCORPION
A REALLY GOOD WORKBOOK THAT CAN BE USED IN THE L5R SETTING OR ADAPTED TO ANY OTHER D20 SETTING. THE BOOK HAS A GREAT SELECTION OF FEATS AND ADVENTURE HOOKS FOR DM'S AND PLAYERS ALIKE. THEY DO GIVE SOME HINTS OF OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE L5R SETTING, BUT THEY AREN'T ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO PLAY WITH THIS BOOK ITSELF

Spycraft Espionage Handbook1 review
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG), 2003

A high-quality book, highly recommended.
First of all, the quality of this book is absolutely outstanding. The exterior is hard-bound, and very durable. The interior of this book is amazing, it's beautiful. All of the headings are lined in high-quality silver ink. Now let's get to the actual game. It uses the Open Gaming License d20 system, which works surprisingly well with this game. Each agent has Action Dice, which can be used to ...

Feats1 review
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2003

Probably the most useful supplemental D&D book.
My D&D group bought the Feats book a long time ago when we were just starting and we have been fighting over it ever since. It has been one of the most useful books in our collection and recently I ordered it on here just so I'd have my own copy. Well worth the buy. Inexpensive and infinitely useful.

L5R Players Guide 2ed1 review
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group, 2002

The best of all systems rolled into one.
The second edition of Alderac's Legend of the Five Rings game has everything that other games strive for: it has the potential for action captured by the d20 system, the pure roleplaying potential of white wolf's storyteller system, and with more realism than both. With this system it is possible to play an entire campaign/chronicle/series/etc and never roll dice, but if the dice are used it is ...

Shadowforce Archer1 review
Aeg

Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG), 2002

A good resource for Spycraft fans, but not much for others
Shadowforce Archer is designed for what marketing experts would call a "captive audience", people who are already interested in the Spycraft roleplaying world and are looking for more source material. While it indeed adds a great deal of depth and information to the Spycraft system as a whole, it does little to generate new interest in the game or roleplaying in general. The black and gray ...
