brilliant cartoonist
I've had this book since I was a kid in the mid-seventies and its pages are very yellowed (no, I'm not selling it!), but it has not lost any of its appeal. I absolutely love this guy's work- the long heads with big noses and droopy eyes, the sound effects, the extreme violations of the laws of physics, etc. This particular paperback book is long out of print, but I would recommend you get any ...

THE 2ND GORGEOUS VOLUME OF EC REPRINTS
The story of EC Comics really is one of the most intriguing in the lore of comic history. EC's founder, Max Gaines is really the father of the modern comic, having been the first one to devise the idea of printing newspaper comic strip re-prints into a magazine format. Gaines was also co-publisher of All-American Comics, the sister company to National Periodical Publications, AKA DC Comics, which ...

Flawed and Loving It!
First of all, the book is not flawed in any physical way. The printing is great, the binding is great, and the color is great. What's flawed are some of the stories. But the flaws are fascinating! For instance, in a story about going to the moon written the decade before it actually happened, we have a man, in a space suit, granted, falling back to earth through space and merely floating to ...

No wonder "The Code" was created, EC was censored, and went out of business
Shock SuspenStories, The EC Archives, Volume 2 contains full color glossy reprints of issues 7-12 of Shock SuspenStories. Now that Gemstone is publishing these stories, one can see why "The Code" was created, EC was censored, and went out of business. The only thing missing from these reprints are the advertisements. I wanna send away from my X-Ray specs! Issue 7's last story, "The Small ...

EC WAS ABOUT MORE THAN HORROR COMICS
Gemstone Publishing continues their truly outstanding reprints of EC Comics with their latest release, Crime Suspenstories, Vol. 1. This hardcover volume reprints the first six issues of the original series, published from 1950 - 1951. EC Comics remain vastly popular today even when most of their comics publishing peers have long since been forgotten. There are a few reasons for this; EC ...

Wow
I am 35 years old, jaded, hardly young at hearted believe first and foremost that most comics as is most sci-fi are for people who have never had a girlfriend or hit a home run. But I have always heard good legendary things about EC comics, things which might make them transcend genre. So when this collection finally came out after a lifetime of waiting I plunked down my milk money like any ...

Printing Error...Beware!
I love these EC Archives books and own most of them. I just received Volume 3 of Tales from the Crypt and was very disappointed to see that due to a printing error, two stories are duplicated ("Grounds for Horror" & "Sucker for a Spider") while two other stores ("A Rottin' Trick" & "Bored to Death") are omitted entirely. I have to imagine that many if not all copies of this volume are similarly ...
