Velma Gratch and ahe Way Cool Butterfly4 reviews
Alan Madison

Atheneum, 2007

Fantastic Book!!!
This is my kids all time favorite book. They ask me to read it to them over and over again. They just can't get enough of Velma Gratch. I think that we all have a little bit of Velma in us, and that is one of the things that is so applealling about it. I highly recommend it.

The Littlest Grape Stomper
Alan Madison

Schwartz & Wade, 2007

Sixto Poblano really sticks out in a crowd. That's because he has six toes on each foot. And evil Boss Nova Boombatz, the head of all things grape, thinks Sixto has real potential. Pecorino's First Concert (Anne Schwartz Books)3 reviews
Alan Madison

Atheneum/Anne Schwartz Books, 2005

SILLY PECORINO
I LOVE THE ILLUSTRATIONS OF THIS UNUSUAL & HILARIOUS BOOK. ALTHOUGH I DON'T THINK THE CONE-BREASTS WERE NECESSARY (MAYBE SOMEONE'S A MADONNA FAN). PECORINO'S MOM TAKES HIM TO HIS FIRST CONCERT. BEING LIKE MOST KIDS, HE STARES AT THE MAN WITH THE LONG MUSTACHE AND DOESN'T STAY IN HIS SEAT, LIKE HIS MOM TOLD HIM. WHILE CHECKING OUT THE INSTRUMENTS ON STAGE, HE GETS STUCK...BUT ALL ENDS WELL. ...

100 Days and 99 Nights3 reviews
Alan Madison

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2008

a must for children that have a parent deployed
My husband is overseas in the military and for periods longer than 100 days. I read this as a read aloud for my children. The issues the children deal with in the story and things they are missing about dad and family routines hit home with my boys. This book opened up discussions for us. There is a part in the book where the brother gets in trouble for fighting and his principal seems very ...
