Elementary Statistics: A Brief Version w/Data Disk2 reviews
Allan G. Bluman

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2006

Math teacher replies
The book did a good job of giving examples and getting to the point. I took a class on the same material with a different book and this book won hands down. The questions are down to the point. They also have interesting facts on everything in the sides of the page.

Elementary Statistics: A Step by Step Approach2 reviews
Allan G. Bluman, Allan Bluman

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2003

I used this book for an online stats with ease.
I did not have the luxary of an instructor guide me through problems and have my questions clarified in class. I took the class online and I had no problem inderstanding how to wrok out the problems. It goes into detail on how to work out problems and gives examples step by step. There are also a lot of practice problems in the text with odd numbers answered for review. The CD in also a great ...

Pre-Algebra Demystified8 reviews
Allan G. Bluman, Allan Bluman

McGraw-Hill Professional, 2004

Worked really well for me
I bought this book (and a bunch of others) because I wanted to prepare myself for a college math assessment test and score high enough that I could jump straight into statistics (I know, pretty ambitious!). My current situation? 1) I haven't studied algebra (or any math at all for that matter!) in about 20 years 2) I didn't learn math in English So, after opening the first algebra ...

Elementary Statistics: A Step by Step Approach2 reviews
Allan G. Bluman

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2005

Ace Your Stats Class
This is a must have text for anyone trying to learn stats. I am currently in a stats class. The text assigned was mostly theoretical with very little real world explanations and examples. I panicked! I started looking for supplementary material so that I could understand this topic. I was swayed by the reviews of this book. Please take a minute and review them for the fifth edition. The reviews ...

Math Word Problems Demystified7 reviews
Allan G. Bluman

McGraw-Hill Professional, 2004

Absolutely wonderful book
Get this for your 6th grade student. It reviews math they have had and teaches how to figure out word problems. It has great explanations and examples. It has practice problems and then quizzes at the end of a unit. Answers are either right after the problems or at the back of the book. Parents can use this to help kids, and math teachers can certainly use it for probably 5th through 8th or ...

Critical Thinking Workbook: Student Edition t/a Elementary Statistics6 reviews
Allan G. Bluman, Allan Bluman

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2003

Bluman's statistics book
This is THE BEST elementary statistics book I have read. Covers all concepts in a very easy to understand manner. The examples and solved problems show you eaxctly how a problem can be approached. For non-statiscians who want to use statistics to analyze their data, this is an excellent starting point. Wont boggle you with extensive formulae and derivations. But will tell you how and why the ...

Elementary Statistics: A Step By Step Approach1 review
Allan G. Bluman

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2005

It satisfies my conditions for adoption, but I decided against it
I evaluated this book for possible use in the basic statistics class that I teach at the college level. When conducting such evaluations, I consider the following points essential: *) Does it cover the appropriate material? *) Is the material presented in the order that I prefer or one that I can adapt to my needs? *) Is the text understandable, can the students read and understand it on ...

Elementary Statistics: A Brief Version (3rd Edition)
Allan G. Bluman

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2006

Elementary Statistics: A Brief Version , 3rd edition is a shorter version of the popular text Elementary Statistics: A Step by Step Approach , 5th edition. This softcover edition includes all the features of the longer book, but is designed for a course in which the time available limits the number of topics covered. The book is written for general beginning statistics courses with a basic algebra prerequisite. The book use a non-theoretical ...

Ths is the best book! Three cheers for Bluman!
I owned the 5th edition for school and accidentally returned it. Wow that was a big mistake. I got the 6th edition and it just was a relief that I had found it. Probably more expensive than I really wanted to spend, but it was worth it. So, now I'm doing a self-study and I'm enjoying the book tremendously!

Probability Demystified4 reviews
Allan G. Bluman

very good start to teach yourself the bases of the probability theory..
I find this book one of the simplest books that help to explain the elementary of the probablity theory. The auther used very easy examples along with solved problems to explain the basics of probability. Applications of probability theory like Simulation, Game theory, and actuarial science have been addressed in a very simple way. If you are searching for the simplest book to understand ...

Excellent Stat book for a beginner or a reviewer
