Delightfully different!
What I like best about Amanda McCabe's A LOVING SPIRIT is that I kept being surprised. The book is light-hearted, fun, atmospheric, and wonderfully unpredictable. The heroine's from Jamaica, the hero's sort of a nerd, and there's more to these ghosts than meets the eye...

Delightfully sweet
I enjoyed Lady in Disguise. It features a heroine who knows her duty and will do it, but she just wants one taste of life's excitement that she sees occurring outside her window. When she slips out for that one day, of course she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for! I liked how the relationship between the hero and the heroine developed so believably. Her "one perfect day" was so ...

Wonderful Historical Elements - 4-1/2*
Lady Marguerite Dumas, was orphaned at an early age. The illegitimate daughter of a courtesan and a noble, Marguerite learned to make her own way in the world of the French nobility. As the King of France's most feared spy and assassin only a select few knew her as the "Emerald Lily", one of them being Nicolai Ostrovsky, a man she was once sent to assassinate. After her failure with Nicolai, ...

Got caught twice this Christmas!
Not only did I get caught buying this re-issue of an anthology I'd already read, but I also got caught buying the re-issue of Diane Farr's ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS. Also by published by Signet, I might add. Buyer beware. My rating is not based on the fact that I'm angry at Signet (which I am), but on the stories which are nice and entertaining--for those reading them for the first time. Nothing ...

Very good
Rosalind Chase is a no-nonsense widow who runs a school for young women. The prudish schoolmistress has a secret: she's the author of the popular book, "A Lady's Rules." The book, now the talk of the ton, is a very strict outline of proper decorum. And Rosalind desperately needs the book to sell... so she can get her no-good brother out of a pinch. All of Rosalind's problems can be traced back ...

Wonderful weekend read
What fun to discover a new author with a new book for the weekend! I enjoyed this historical fiction with the interplay between Michael and Kate. The whole story was enticing with the references to Shakespeare's romances. All lovers of Regency will have to read this story.

nice uncomplicated love story...
If you're in the mood for sweet, uncomplicated love story about two friends who rediscover each other after many years of separation and who realize that they are soul mates, then "The Star of India" is the book for you. A sequel of sorts to "Lady Rogue" I liked "The Star of India" a lot better than "Lady Rogue" -- the storyline was a more interesting one, and Amanda McCabe did a thoroughly good ...

thoroughly enjoyable
"One Touch of Magic" is definitely my favourite Amanda McCabe Regency-era romance novel, and is also, I believe, a really good example of how an authour can successfully pen a romance novel with a mystical subplot, and make everything seem believable and probable. When Lady Sarah Iverson's husband, the renowned antiquarian scholar Sir John Iverson, passed away while in the middle excavating a ...
