Second Sight (The Arcane Society, Book 1)52 reviews

Krentz fans will love!
I was wary of switching from reading Jayne Ann Krentz novels to any of her psudonyms because I knew they would be different tones and/or voices, but I'm so glad I did. Second sight was the second Amanada Quick novel I've read (The River Knows was the first one), and now I'm hooked. Her writings of the Polite World and its inhabitants are just as good as those set in more modern times. It's a good ...

More Stars Please . . ..
This is one of my favorites by Amanda Quick. Though this is my third time reading Ravished, I enjoyed it as much if not more than the first time. The hero and heroine are lovable, well-rounded and memorable. The supporting characters are also full of life and believable. There's lots of action. Oh, and I can't forget to add that I found it hilarious. The Plot Harriet summons Gideon ...

Late for the Wedding26 reviews

Another great adventure for Lavinia and Tobias
I loved this book as much as the other two Lake and March mysteries. They're just a great team! I would gladly read many more of their stories. They're clever and funny and very romantic. I never get tired of them or the currant tarts. I think any of their stories (or any of Amanda Quick's books for that matter) should be a movie. I'd love to see this on the big screen; would be absolutely ...

Amanada Quick: Arcane #4
Very good, especially if you like "arcane" stuff. The Crystal Worker thing was most interesting, even if fake.

What a fun read!
I've had a book going for 20 years and never once did I read an Amanda Quick story, or any other books under her different names. I picked this one up last week, deciding to give her a try-and couldn't put it down once I started it. It grabbed me right from the beginning with a good plot, good characters, good suspense and great writing. I loved Anthony right from the beginning and Louisa was ...

A refreshing read!
I checked Deception out of the library a few days ago. I intended on reading it as a study break as I plowed through math GRE preparations. This book is so refreshing and funny that I do believe I will purchase my own copy! Of course, not everyone has the same tastes as I--but if you like regency romance stories with a side of innocence and arrogance then this is a book for you!

Reckless16 reviews
Amanda Quick

Bantam, 1992

Fast paced romantic adventure in a historical background
RecklessIf you haven't read Amanda Quick this is a great book to start with. I was entranced from the very beginning of this entertaining historical romance. There is plenty of suspense, humor, romantic moments, and action to make any reader happy. I couldn't put it down I read it in one night. The heroine has a handicap that her family tends to overprotect her about but she goes about ...

Mistress33 reviews
Amanda Quick

Bantam, 1995

I'm not going to be picky.
I can be quite picky when doing a review of a romance novel and I am not going to do that with this book because I finally got almost everything I have asked for in the past from authors. (Is it being picky to say that the heroines name was almost impossible for me to pronounce? I gave her the nickname of Ginny and moved on.) This is a book where the hero (Marcus) actually talked to the ...

Dangerous25 reviews
Amanda Quick

Bantam, 1993

A fun read in the Regency world
I found this book an excellent read, great fun, amusing dialogue and an interesting story. I particularly liked the way Amanda Quick portrayed Sebastian as someone who had become so disenchanted with society that he behaved with disdain for his relatives. I think the dialogue is particularly strong in this novel - the witticisms between Sebastian and Prudence are great fun. Read and enjoy.

I Thee Wed68 reviews
Amanda Quick

Bantam, 2000

I was happily surprised!
After reading the hoards of flat reviews for Amanda Quick's _I Thee Wed_ I was expecting a horrendous book that had not even an inkling of Ms. Quick's obvious talent. I was certainly surprised to find that _I Thee Wed_ had the same flare that I've become accustomed to from Amanda Quick. This book had me interested from the very first page! I don't usually become involved until at least two ...

Worldwind romance, thunderstorm of crime
This was a delightful love story and my first experience with Amanda Quick. Her imagery in describing both the crime and the characters is breathtaking. Charlotte Arkendale's profession of investigating potential spouses for inpropriety is an ingenius profession for a woman of her time to have. Her hero is a scientist who at first believes some wrong things about our heroine. This brings the ...

Mischief24 reviews

Bantam, 1997

Amanda Quick's most engaging book!
I'm an avid Amanda Quick reader and usually can finish her books in two days while still functioning in life and doing the usual mundane day-to-day things. Such was not the case with _Mischief_, I absolutely *could not* put this book down -- I finished it in one day. Not only are the characters amazing, the plot moved along at such a wonderfully fast pace that I didn't even realize time was ...

Wicked Widow95 reviews
Amanda Quick

Bantam, 2001

A hit for Quick
I found this to be as well written as the other Amanda Quick novels that I read. She has a smooth style and does a great job developing her characters. This book had a very interesting story line. The extremely smart recluse and the Wicked Widow get together to solve a mystery and during their adventure, a romance blossoms. The romance is sweet not sappy and the mystery was entertaining. The ...

Another Great Amanda Quick Novel

With This Ring39 reviews

Quick does it again!
Don't be fooled by bland reviews, _With This Ring_ is classic Amanda Quick. Teeming with the usual mystery, romance, adventure and passion readers have grown to love, _With This Ring_ is right on par with all of Ms. Quick's earlier works. I'd even go so far as to say it has become one of my favorites by her. In Beatrice and Leo Ms. Quick has created two strong minded, mature and well rounded ...
