DK CHILDREN, 1997

pleases all
We all love this cook book. The photos are beautiful and recipes easy to follow. A few are difficult for younger cooks, but just looking at those recipes makes you want to grow up faster! Recipes cover breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts. Healthy, international recipes that kids and adults will want to make and eat. This one is a winner.

A Good Book
Thank you for publishing the, usborne language guides for beginners books and audio series. I am excited about learning other languages and have chosen the French for beginners as my stepping stone to success. Angela Wilkes

DK Publishing, 2001

Above All Others
My six year old son couldn't wait to get started making gingerbread from this book. He assembled all equipment needed from the photos provided for each recipe. I've looked at other children's cookbooks and this is above the others in being extremely well thought out in every detail. We haven't tried any other recipes yet but can't wait to!!!

Wild Places (Explainers)1 review
Angela Wilkes

Educational Development Corporation, 1994

Beautiful illustrations, excellent book!
My children are very excited about this book. It is full of wonderful illustrations and information about different climates/regions (desert, jungle, mountains, etc...). In each region it also explores various related topics such as walking through the jungle, volcanoes, avalanches, conquering Everest, the death of rainforests (these are headings in the book). I would highly recommend this. ...

Latin for Beginners (Usborne Language Guides)5 reviews
Angela Wilkes, J Shackell

Usborne Publishing Ltd, 1993

Lively Latin for Learners of All Ages!
"Latin for Beginners" is aimed directly at kids, not their teachers. (In olden days, when I began studying Latin, I suspected that our texts were designed to please our teachers. Although the books laid out the material logically, they were dull: completion of homework was a victory over boredom.) Now, along come Wilkes and Schakell-two halves of the same brain?-to bring some pizzazz to ...

Interesting and Easy to Follow
I got a copy in Ireland with a CD instead of the tapes. I've tried other Irish language books, but this one worked best for me. Very straightforward, and focused on getting you speaking Irish as quickly as possible. If you want to try your hand at Irish, this is a really good first choice. Slán leat!

My First Word Book22 reviews
Angela Wilkes

DK Preschool, 1991

My 14 month old already loves this book
My baby loves this book. She loves looking at the pictures, she points to them and I say the word to her. It's a great way to introduce the first words to baby that is just starting to talk but I can see we could probably use this book for many years to come until kidergarten even.

Angela Wilkes

Usborne Publishing Ltd, 2000

the best of the best
I collect children's cookbooks. "The Usborne Internet-linked Children's World Cookbook" is the best I have found so far. Why? Let me count the reasons: 1. This softcover 8 1/2 x 11 is the perfect size. It mostly stays open, except towards the front and back, then just place a potato or whatever you have on hand to hold it open. 2. Bright, colorful, inviting, with pictures on EVERY page! ...
