Walk the paws of a stray dog
Whenever I find myself caring about stray dogs and cats, I feel guilty. How many stray children are out there, ones with homes and ones without? Then I have to concentrate on the issue at hand: stray dogs and cats. "A Dog's Life: Autobiography of a Stray" is not an easy read. Author of the Baby Sitter series, Ann M. Martin is apparently a proponent of humane treatment of animals and ...

Wonderful Story
As an adult, I often enjoy reading children's books. Unfortunately, so many books on the market today have only one purpose in mind--to make money. With the new Main Street series, this is not the case. These books, which are part of a continuing journey for two girls, actually tells a story. Without giving away specific details of the stories, I can tell you that this series is about hope ...

A wonderful book--I would have loved it with the covers torn off
I am a 41 year old woman and I consider reading to be a gift from God. I will soon be teaching school and I read everything I can get my hands on as I feel it is important to be a good role model for my future students in learning to read. When I was young I read The Little House on the Prairie series and I loved them! I have read each one of those books at least 5 times. This book was a ...

My Favorite Book as a Child
When I was young I used to love the Baby Sitters Club I read every book that I could get my hands on but Super Special #14 was by far my favorite because it was longer and it dealt with what the charactors were feeling more than the other books. Even at a young age these books really seemed to speak to me on a personal level I felt as though I knew these girls like they lived across the street or ...

Fantastic!
This is a fantastic book! It is not just about moving and talking dolls but it is also about friendship and family. It was so good that I didn't want to put the book down! I love the characters, settings and events in the story. My favorite character is Annabelle because she is exactly like me. I like the school setting because it made you feel like you were actually there. I think that the ...

P.S. Longer Letter Later (The Best Book Ever!!)
The novel P.S. Longer Letter Later is a very exciting story about two young girls who were best friends. These two girls did not have perfect lives, but they were happy with who they were, what they had, ...

best book!
I first read this book when I was 8 and I loved it! Ten years later I'm still loving it! When I was little, I would read it all the time because I loved the secret room, and all the kids with silly names! I think this is a great book for any age, and it never gets old!

Excellent Read
This is a wonderful young adult novel by Ms. Martin. Belle Teal is a thought-provoking and beautifully told story of one child's experience with desegregation. Belle is a strong female character who gracefully stands up for herself and her beliefs; a terrific role model for girls (and boys) learning to navigate a larger world in which people don't always agree.

FANTASTIC - A MUST READ
Maggie California Diaries #3 is a great book and a must buy. For those who don't know, it's about 13-year-old Maggie Blume who is feeling immense pressure from her dad, who wants her to be involved in heaps of extracurricular activities and have no fun at all. Maggie's mum is an alcoholic and all she cares about is "where her next pair of shoes is coming from" (this is from the book). Maggie has ...

Very well done!
This third in the Baby Sitters Club (BSC) series of graphic novels is my favorite so far. Raina's drawings seem more detailed and lively in each successive book. I've been buying the BSC graphic novels for my niece who is finding real inspiration in the artwork while simply enjoying Ann Martin's time-honored stories, and I heartily recommend this series both for the clean, yet engaging stories, ...

I really enjoyed reading the first book in the new MAIN STREET series by Ann M. Martin. I am glad that she is doing another series. I have many girls in my 5th-grade class who are still reading THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB and this new series is a little more timely. It is the story of two sisters, Flora and Ruby, who lose their parents one night in a terrible car crash. Their grandmother picks ...

Karen's Roller Skates
I really like these books. I used to just get them from the library, but now I have bought some. In this book, Karen got new roller skates. She jumps over two cans, but then when she tries to turn around, she falls down and breaks her wrist. She has to go to the hospital and get a cast. Then, she sees Ricky there, and he broke his leg. In the rest of the book, Karen gets people to sign her cast, ...

Great!
When Dawn baby sits for the Baretts', Dawn thinks baby sitting there is easy. First, The Barett House was dirty so they had to clean it. Second, Kristy hates Dawn of being a BSC Member. Kristy is jealous of Dawn because Mary Anne spends more time with her old friend, Kristy than her new friend, Dawn.
