This book is wonderful for early readers or non readers. There is very little text on each page, just a title and lots of pictures. I disagree with the "baby-preschool" description of this book. I think it's a little too busy for babies, and I also think children in the early grades would really enjoy finding the animals on each page. I have been homeschooling my 5 year old using the Usbourne Children's Encyclopedia. Great intro to social studies and geography. I bought this book so that I had something winter-timeish to read to my 2 year old. It's excellent. She asks for it again and again. Inspiring to young artists
My five year old daughter loves the step by step instructions and takes great pride in being able to draw the different animals in the book. I appreciate that it shows how to draw with various media. We have alot of fun doing art time with this book!
