Dragonriders of Pern 81 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Del Rey, 1988
There be Dragons! I have had a lifelong love of all things dragon and have long been a fan of Anne McCaffrey and her Dragonriders of Pern series. Such a fan, that I've read my paperback versions again and again until the only thing holding them together were rubber bands! Thus began my quest to find hardbound copies and thanks to Amazon this became a reality. Anne McCaffrey's Pern, dragons, and their riders ...

A Gift of Dragons 35 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Del Rey, 2002
Wonderful Introduction I came into the Pern series and Anne McCaffrey's writing when I was around the age of 10. I found the books wonderful and exciting. The way McCaffrey gives life to her characters is amazing! A Gift of Dragons is great for people who have never read the Pern series and for those who love the series.
The first three stories are parts of larger books, I own them all. The fourth story is new and ...

Deluge: Book Three of The Twins of Petaybee 7 reviews Anne Mccaffrey, Elizabeth Ann Scarborough
Del Rey, 2008
Deluge: Book Three of the Twins of Petaybee Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Scarborough are a very good combination. As good a book as either has turned out. Well developed story. Younger readers will thoroughly enjoy. Not bad for the older reader as well.

Dragonseye 80 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Del Rey, 1997
The return of the Thread It has been over two hundred and fifty years since the first humans arrived on Pern. The original colonists had been, for the most part at least, dedicated to the idea of establishing a human society that was not dependent on technology, that would go back to a simpler way of life than the war torn world they had left behind. What they had not realized until it was too late to turn back or call ...

Dragon Harper (Dragonriders of Pern, The) 37 reviews Anne Mccaffrey, Todd J. Mccaffrey
Del Rey, 2007
Not excellent, but good and worth reading I think a couple of these reviews are a bit harsh. Sure, Todd has to find his way around and always will be measured against his mother's legacy - and that's a tough one!
So far I've liked all the "mother/son" collaboration results. This one is not so much about dragons, but honestly - I don't think a Pern-novel has to be about dragons. I've always enjoyed the intricate display of a much ...

Maelstrom: Book Two of The Twins of Petaybee 15 reviews Anne Mccaffrey, Elizabeth Ann Scarborough

Maelstrom (The Twins of Petaybee, Book 2) It kept up the pace and the story line as book 1 left off. I really enjoyed it and very much look forward to Book 3.

All the Weyrs of Pern (Dragonriders of Pern Series) 70 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Del Rey, 1992
Telepathic dragons and a millennia-old computer - this is the perfect capper to the Pern series... With a respectful nod to all her brilliant other works, when I think of Anne McCaffrey, I always think of dragons first, and, specifically, the telepathic dragons of Pern and their bold riders. From Dragonflight (Dragonriders of Pern), the first published novel about Pern, all the way up to The Skies of Pern, I have so enjoyed the ride. The Chronicles of Pern (or maybe the Dragonriders of Pern) ...

Dragon's Fire (The Dragonriders of Pern) 50 reviews Anne Mccaffrey, Todd J. Mccaffrey
Del Rey, 2007
Protecting the Shunned Dragon's Fire (2006) is the second SF novel in this subseries of the Dragonriders of Pern, following Dragon's Kin. In the previous volume, at Camp Natalon, Kindan trained Natalon's blind daughter Nuella to direct his green watch-wher Kisk. After a cave-in in the mine, Kindan taught her to take Kisk between to the trapped miners and then to bring them back with her.
During the rescue, the ...

The Chronicles of Pern: First Fall (The Dragonriders of Pern) 30 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Del Rey, 1994
Wonderful Insights Into Pern's History! The Chronicles of Pern: First Fall is actually a collection of 5 short stories that take place around the time of Dragonsdawn. They are: The Survey: P.E.R.N - This is the shortest story of the collection and it deals with the original surveyors who were mapping that part of the galaxy and recommended Pern for colonization. The reader is offered tantalizing glimpses of a bigger story behind the ...

The White Dragon (Dragonriders of Pern Vol 3) 62 reviews Anne McCaffrey

Fabulous costumer service This was a B-day gift for a close friend. I was worried it wouldn't get here in time for her B-day. It made it on time for her B-day, although it didn't arrive on the day it was supposed to. Without question or having to contact costumer service, my shipping was refunded to me because of the inconvenience. I appreciate Amazon for thier fast action and that I didn't have to complain like people ...

Dragondrums (Harper Hall Trilogy) 38 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Aladdin, 2003
This book is a winner! My admiration for Anne McCaffrey knows no bounds. I think she has created some wonderful fiction. I credit her Harper Hall series with fostering a great love of reading and music in me at a very young age. I found the first book DragonSong at the library when I was about eleven or twelve and proceeded to devour everything I could find that she had put out. I eagerly awaited each new book. I ...

Dragonquest (Dragonriders of Pern) 49 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Del Rey, 1986
Typical Anne McCaffrey - Great! This is the 2nd novel of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series.
It is written so that it can be read not only in the series, but also stand alone.
Our local library classifies these novels as "Science Fiction" and/or "Fantasy". I classify them as "Great Reading". Anne McCaffrey is one of the best authors I have read. Her other works are very good also.
If you want to start with the ...

The Renegades of Pern (Dragonriders of Pern Series) 30 reviews Anne McCaffrey
Del Rey, 1990
Renegades of pern I recomend this book if you are reading the entire Pern series in chronological order. Renegades will seem choppy if you read it alone and most of the secnes will not make sense if read before the other books. Renegades fills in a lot of time gaps that reading the others leave out. I recomend this book to all Pern fans.
