First Stories Great!!
I really enjoyed the first two stories. The plots were well written and exciting. The last story just didn't fit my personality. I'm not that into elderly couple mystery/romance stories. My favorite was the first story, the book is worth it for that. I like having the recipes at the end. The second story was pretty good but a little far-fetched. I have already commented on the third. God ...

Beautiful story of adoption and love, and very accurate!
When my husband and I began the process of adopting a baby from China, my mother gave us this book. We loved the story of Bronson and Georgine and their search for God, love, and a child. Barbara Jean Hicks has thoroughly researched the Chinese adoption process, and her facts are accurate. Her honesty about the situation of many women and baby girls in China is very touching. The story is ...

A pure delight!
Want a feel-good romance? This is it! I had hoped the story would live up to the delightful cover--it does . . . and then some! You'll empathize with the hard-working heroine--and you'll laugh out loud at the children's antics--but what you'll really love is how they charm their way into a no-nonsense professor's heart. For a perfect afternoon treat, grab a cup of cocoa, a pair of bunny ...

Fabulous read
This book is entirely too cute. If you are a cat person, you will definitely relate and be delighted by the charming story and wonderful illustrations. I would not recommend this as a read for very young children, but kids 8+ are likely to be quite entertained. Adults, though, will really be pleasantly surprised by the wit, whimsy, and charm of this book.

These four stories, each centered around an old house, are truly heartwarming. If you are feeling down, these great stories will definitely "restore" you too.

Hooray for Barbara and Pilchuck!
I love the Jan Karon-esque qualities of Barbara's books. I had already visited Pilchick and been introduced to Cindy in Barb's other hometown adventures and now we have become better aquainted. The love, caring, pettiness, quirks, foibles, heroes and crackpots of Smalltown, America are true to life and full of giggles. I plan to visit again and again. More, please!

Sweet
Four Inspirational Romance novellas by four talented Romance writers! All four stories have an animal of some sort to help bring the couples together and find love. I cannot choose which of the four I enjoyed the best. You will find humor scattered in this blend along with intense emotions. Suitable for teens and young adults to read as well.

A good book to cuddle up with!
If you want to cuddle up with a good book, this is a great one! Like Ms. Hicks other books, she writes in a way so you become involved in the characters lives instead of just being a bystander. You sympathize with Bonny's unwillingness to let Timothy back into her life because you can feel the pain she went through. Yet you know Timothy has really changed and deserves a second chance. I am ...

Comments from a fellow inspirational writer
Like the author, Barbara Jean Hicks, I was a little skeptical that I could warm up to a character who was so different (or so I thought) from me. But as I read, I found myself being drawn deeper and deeper into Tony and Clark's lives. The parts I enjoyed the most were the sermons by Chappie. They made me think and they brought me to an acceptance of people with addictions and an acceptance ...

For those who want to come home to their loving father
Coming home explains how and why we move away from God, the consequences, and more importantly, how , to return to the Father who loves you. "All Christians, at some point in their lives, will wander away from God," according to Robert Jeffress, in part because of our sinful nature, and in part because of Satan's plan. However, he identifies three reasons why believers leave for the far country : ...
