I am a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, and it was very reassuring to know that I could easily find and quickly purchase this much needed text online. Thanks guys, keep up the good work. P.S. The book was new and in excellent condition.

Homeland and Other Stories (Chivers Sound Library American Collections)15 reviews
Barbara Kingsolver

Sound Library, 2000

I wish each story was its own novel.
A lovely collection of stories, as is to be expected of Barbara Kingsolver's fiction. The characters are rich and dynamic, and the stories are so well developed that I wish each one was a full-length novel. Well worth the read-

Suspicion of Guilt10 reviews
Barbara Parker

Recorded Books, 1995

OK for a follow up but could be better
The original book in the Gail Connor/Anthony Quintana series, "Suspicion of Innocence" was excellent. This second book in the series is OK, but the characters are becoming rather more stereotyped. Some months have passed since the end of the first book, and although in that book it appeared that Gail Connor was starting her own law firm, that hasn't happened yet. Her relationship with the ...

Suspicion of Madness: A Gail Connor and Anthony Quintana Novel9 reviews
Barbara Parker

Thorndike Press, 2003

disappointing
I am a fan of this series and will continue to be. But this story lacked tightness. It was spread too thin with too much going on. Not enough tension. The plot seemed tired, as if she threw in characters just to fill the space. But I still can't wait for the next one. I am sure the next one will be better.

Dog Talk: Training Your Dog Through A Canine Point Of View19 reviews
John Ross, Barbara McKinney

St. Martin's Press, 1995

Best book on the market
I bought this book (amongst others) 8 years ago when I got my first dog. After reading all of the dog books I could lay my hands on, I decided to try this one. I followed it religiously and it worked like a dream. As a result, both my dogs are amazingly well trained and behaved. By the time they were six months old they both responded to spoken commands as well as hand signals. I can leave ...

The Dark of Day6 reviews
Barbara Parker

BBC Audiobooks America, 2008

Great Legal Thriller
Anyone who likes intriguing characters, a plot full of twists and turns, and a tropical Miami setting should read Barbara Parker! Parker is a former Florida prosecutor; her protagonist in this novel is high power defense attorney C.J. Dunn, whose clients are not the only ones with skeletons in their closets. I enjoyed Parker's "Suspicion" series as well, and hope that she will write more books ...

Junie B Jones, First Grader, Boxed Set 18-26 ( Minus No 25) (Volumes 1, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26)1 review
Barbara Parker

Scholastic, 2007

Love her smile!
I bought this book set for my daughter from school and it was in fact cheaper than the price from Amazon.com. When she recieved her books she was so excited. But I have read the books. They are very entertaining. She speaks the language my daughter does. But what she likes I like. Anythings that makes her happy makes me happy. It speaks on experiences that even young little girls go ...

Suspicion of Rage: A Gail Connor and Anthony Quintana Novel7 reviews
Barbara Parker

Thorndike Press, 2005

Not like the others, but very good!
If you are expecting a Gail Connor, Anthony Quintana novel with legal twists and courtroom scenes, you are not going to find it in this book. Very much unlike the entire "Suspician of" series this is merely an adventure in Cuba and a bit of a travelogue that helped me to understand 21st century Cuba a lot better. I really enjoyed it and found the tension and suspense to be very good, while ...

Suspicion of Deceit18 reviews
Barbara Parker

World Pubns, 1999

Adult fiction at work
I read the review by the guy who was so disdainful of the author turning into a romance or romantic suspense writer (ala Catherine Coulter) and so had to write a review myself. There is nothing out there in the literary world that says mystery/suspense/thriller writers are any more literary or high brow than those who dapple in romance so cut the bleep out about romance themes, will ya? I'm ...

Suspicion of Vengeance17 reviews
Barbara Parker

Signet, 2003

Don?t let the unlikelihood fool you?.
Into NOT enjoying Barbara Parker's 6th outing for the legal couple, Anthony Quintana/Gail Connor. It is certainly a stretch to believe that Connor, a civil attorney, and a sole practitioner at that, would become involved with a death-penalty appeals case. Forgiving that, sit back and enjoy what is Parker's most ambitious and well-written tale of the series! In it, some of the past jealousy ...

CRIMINAL JUSTICE7 reviews
BARBARA PARKER

FEATURE, 1998

Fantastic plot
I loved this book. The main character Dan Galindo was so likable that I can't wait for Parker to write another book featuring him. The plot and characters kept me from putting this book down; a real page-turner.

Suspicion of Malice: A Gail Connor and Anthony Quintana Novel14 reviews
Barbara Parker

Signet, 2001

Donada Peters incredible reader for Parkers characters
Donada Peters does so much more than read the words in Parker's books. She brings operatic talent and range in accents to bring the cast of characters to life, both male and female. The romantic magnetism between Anthony and Gail has left me eager for the next title, and distressed not to find an unabridged reading by Ms. Peters for the subsequent Parker titles. I am on hold in hope.

Men: Twelve Stories
Barbara Parker Robinson

Suspicion of Innocence17 reviews
Barbara Parker

Signet, 1994

Great characters and a great read
... The basic plot is a "whodunnit" legal thrilled where the heroine, Gail Connor, falls under suspicion for the murder of her sister Renée. There are subplots of jealousy, her marriage falling apart, her daughter being ignored, Renée's history, her work, an Indian clay mask, a dodgy older relative, but these are all secondary to the (for me, anyway) highlight of the book which is the ...

Suspicion of Betrayal27 reviews
Barbara Parker

Signet, 2000

A great suspense novel
From the first page to the last, this was a real suspense book. Without giving too much of the story away, it's about a high-class lawyer who lives alone with her daughter. She then started to get these weird and threatening phone calls, which then turned into things that were far more serious. As the story goes on, twists and turns await the reader, and blood is spilled and fingers are pointed. ...
