Street Graphics Egypt2 reviews
Barry Dawson

Thames & Hudson, 2003

Just brilliant...
That book is very unique.. because it's about Egypt.. and there aren't that many books that discuss modern Egypt in such a detailed way. And being an Egyptian myself.. even in Egypt.. I've never seen something so detailed in describing the big downfall that has happened to Egyptian culture since the time of the pharoahs.. which was strongly emphasized in the book. I strongly recommend it.

Street Graphics India5 reviews
Barry Dawson

Thames & Hudson, 2001

Fascinating
This book is fascinating on several levels. As a photography book of the street advertising in India; great photos of the very colourful and strange ads found there. As a graphic design book; creative inspiration for advertising in ways not done here in the U.S., using materials and styles we don't see here. As an insight into Indian culutre; symbols, colours, methods that make sense to them, ...

The Dynamic Cell: A New Concept for Teaching Molecular Cell Biology

Springer, 2000

The Dynamic Cell is a new concept in the teaching of cell biology, depicting the cell in a series of animated 3-dimensional scenes. By clicking with the mouse on structures within the scenes, 'illustrated records' (pop-up screens) appear with animations, simulations, zoomed views, video clips or still pictures, accompanied by a short, descriptive text. Students are thus taken on a visual tour of the cell and introduced to cellular structures and ...

Street Graphics Tokyo (Street Graphics)2 reviews

Thames & Hudson, 2002

Pleasing
I wasnt expecting underground design in this book. I was looking for what I exactly found in the book: Simple graphics found in the streets, in food packaging, flyers, pamphlets... Its everything you might "see" in Tokyo but that you usually wouldnt pay attention to until u see it in the book. All the pictures in this book are color, in a glossy, nice paper. The overall quality of the book is ...

Street Graphics Cuba
Barry Dawson

Thames & Hudson, 2001

Much of today's most exuberant, most creative and most telling imagery is all around us, in the street. All over the world, the street has become a public art gallery of visual icons, each city with permanent collections and temporary exhibits, each country with its own much-loved identity. Cuba has a unique place in the planet's street galleries; its colonial past and its revolution have created something vibrantly distinct. Beyond the ...

Traditional Buildings of India
Ilay Cooper, Barry Dawson

Thames & Hudson, 1998

Throughout India, buildings are constructed by traditional methods and without architects. From family houses to village temples, from grain stores to fine mansions, the Indian builder works according to ancient and sometimes religious practice, with whatever materials are at hand, to suit local conditions and extremes of climate. The range of vernacular building types--mud-plastered, reed-thatched, timber-framed--is as varied as India's ...

Stress and You: A Guide To Coping With Stress
Barry Dawson

AuthorHouse, 2007

The majority of books written today on the subject of stress are by doctors, and people mainly concerned within the medical fraternity. This book is written by a former airline pilot who at the age of 50 suffered a serious heart attack followed by a number of other operations concerning his heart and was obliged to "retire." It appears from the medical evidence that some of the problems causing his initial heart attack were stress related. ...
