The Count of Monte Cristo (Classics Illustrated (New York, N.Y.);, No. 7.)388 reviews
Steven Grant, Alexandre Dumas, ...

Berkley Publishing Group, 1990

Great copy of unabridged Count of Monte Cristo
We only recently found out that all our copies of The Count of Monte Cristo were abridged. We checked this out of our local library and liked it so much we bought a copy for our home library. The type setting is very readable and best of all, it's not abridged. The story is a classic and a great read. I recommend it for everyone.

A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity24 reviews
Bill O'Reilly

Broadway, 2008

FABULOUS!
Non-fiction biography-type books rarely keep my interest, but this one was different from the first paragraph. I simply could not put this book down and took moments from my day to "sneak read" whenever I could. I highly recommend this book even if you are not a fan of The Factor. You will not regret this purchase.

Get Your Life on Track!
This is a great book for anyone who is looking for a way to move forward in their life. Jack Canfield gives you so many great ideas and exercises you can incorporate into your life to help you on your path to success. I reccomend reading thru it slowly taking time to do the exercises. I will always use this book as a reference when I am looking to push my life forward.

Eclipse (The Twilight Saga, Book 3)949 reviews
Stephenie Meyer

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2007

Once you start it, you can't put it down!
Another winner in the Twilight series. I had heard these were written for teenagers, but but that's certainly not the case. This book is appropriate for young adults through Senior citizens. The plot is engaging, the characters so real and the author's style of writing keep you enmeshed in the story. Who doesn't find the possibility of Vampires intriguing- and I might add, these are a clan of ...

The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle19 reviews
Jim Butcher, Ardian Syaf

Del Rey/Dabel Brothers, 2008

Another quality entry in the Dresden Files
First, I'd like to address some of these more negative reviews. Yes, it is a comic book, not a novel. But the idea that Amazon "hoodwinked" anyone is ridiculous. The book has listings of its sales ranks and has for a while, and it is listed under "graphic novels". Additionally, it has TWO authors listed, not just Butcher, and the picture used to advertise the product has it clearly depicted at ...

Jim Norton

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2008

The Funny
I laughed while reading this book front to back. I had heard some of the stories during his appearances on The Opie and Anthony Show but still laughed ever single moment. A must read for anyone with a sick sense of humor.

The Best Book of Spaceships (The Best Book of)3 reviews
Ian Graham

Kingfisher, 1998

Lives up to its name
I picked this book out from the huge selection of children's books at the National Air & Space Museum. It has some informative text and lots of attractive pictures. One especially nice thing is that it doesn't just show what spaceships look like but how they work. For example, it shows (better than some other books I've seen) the steps in a shuttle launch or a trip to the moon (it helped me ...

This book is awesome. Johnny G's baby!
I laughed, and I cried. This book is so good that I may actually keep it instead of taking it back for store credit.

Passing the Flame: A Beadmaker's Guide to Detail and Design102 reviews
Corina Tettinger

Bonzobucks & Books Pub, 2002

Simply the best book with great photos and step by step instruction
After fusing glass for over 15 years, I really wanted to try beadmaking. A friend who makes beads raved about this book and loaned me her copy for only a week. I realized this was the book that I had to have in order to really produce quality beads. This book and practice have helped me to create beads that I can be proud of. I still review her lessons, study her photographs of color ...

Living Dead in Dallas (Southern Vampire Mysteries, No. 2)145 reviews
Charlaine Harris

Ace Hardcover, 2009

Better than the tv series
I started reading this book quickly after I finished Dead After Dark. I am a fan of the tv show and quickly discovered that the books are more engaging than the tv show and I was hooked after the first chapter. I am now waiting on the third book to reach my doorstep. I recommend this book for everyone who is a fan of twilight, but over the age of 18, the sexual content maybe a little to risky ...

Speaking for Myself: My Life from Liverpool to Downing Street1 review
Cherie Blair

Little, Brown and Company, 2008

Fascinating character study of a flawed woman who's led an interesting life
Let me start by saying: if you don't like Cherie Blair (and many don't), this is not the book that will change your mind. I started reading it with an open mind, but by the end even I was getting tired of her! Having said that, I enjoyed reading "Speaking for Myself" and I recommend it (which may sound strange, but only if you think you need to like the subject of a biography to enjoy reading ...

    The Shack1648 reviews
William P. Young

Windblown Media, 2008

MUST READ
I highly recommend this book to everyone. It offers a wonderful insight into something we have all wondered but were afraid to ask out loud. Next time I sit on a dock by the water, I will think of this book. It is one of the best books I have read in a long time. It offers a delightful insight into what it would be like to actually meet God and hang out with "them".

    World Without End399 reviews
Ken Follett

NAL Trade, 2008

One of the longest books I've ever read, and excellent.
Those looking for a quick read should look elsewhere, but then, the product description could have told you that. I read most of the text in the course of a day (with a lot of time devoted). This is, of course, a sequel to Ken Follett's 80s classic "The Pillars of the Earth"; "Pillars" wrapped up its characters stories quite neatly, so Follett wisely decides to keep the setting, 200 years in ...

The Limits of Power: The End of American Exceptionalism87 reviews
Andrew Bacevich

Metropolitan Books, 2008

Mandatory Reading
This is a fantastic and fascinating book. It should be required reading for everyone in government and politics. If you're trying to make sense of the mess this country is in, this book will help you understand much about the causes. But be warned: Bacevich says it's really up to us if there's going to be any changes made. We Americans can no longer afford to be complacent about the state of ...

SAS Survival Handbook: How to Survive in the Wild, in Any Climate, on Land or at Sea109 reviews
John Lofty Wiseman

Collins, 2004

Long book, short review.
I dont wanna write a book explaining this thing, but, even if youre just a part time backpacker, hiker or camper, this is a book you want to invest in. Lots of good information on lots of areas in the world. There is some stuff in here that should be common knowledge, but will teach you new things you never would have thought. All and all, for 13 bucks, if the book helps even once while in ...

Eat This Not That! for Kids!: Be the Leanest, Fittest Family on the Block!27 reviews
David Zinczenko, Matt Goulding

Rodale Books, 2008

Eye Catching!
As soon as the book arrived, my 9 year old son started going through it and told me what I should and shouldn't buy, before I even had a chance to pick it up and look at it! I think the colorful pictures got his attention. We keep it out as a reference and refer to it frequently.

Heal Your Headache: The 1-2-3 Program for Taking Charge of Your Pain232 reviews
David Buchholz

Workman Publishing Company, 2002

Miracle on Paper !!!!
For those of you like me, doctor after doctor, with no results this is the book for you. This is the first time I have written a review for anything I have purchased. His 1-2-3 step book is working for me. I was suffering from a continuous migraine for almost 4 months and was ready to commit my self. No doctors in my area were able to help, medicines, CT scans, MRI scans I went through a lot ...

Choosing Civility: The Twenty-five Rules of Considerate Conduct19 reviews
P. M. Forni

St. Martin's Griffin, 2003

A good book for our times
After discussing why we don't treat each other as well as we should and why we should treat each other better, Massimo offers 25 rules to help us implement his advice. He gets very specific about the ways we can treat each other better, every day. I like this book for two reasons. One, because it puts the accountability where it belongs: on me. I can't improve my relations with other people by ...

    The Love Dare25 reviews
Stephen Kendrick, Alex Kendrick

B&H Books, 2008

Are you up for a challenge?
My husband and I have been reading the Dares daily and look forward to what the next dare might bring. We have been married 13 years and have two children who require a lot of our time. This book has made us rethink our relationship and "dared" us to reconnect. I am remembering all the reasons why I fell in love with my husband in the first place.

Wasn't sure I would but I LOVED this book!
After reading the Twilight series twice I needed something a bit different so I thought I would give this book a try - boy am I ever glad I did. I loved this book so much. It was just a little slow moving at first but once you get a few chapters into it - wow did it ever take off. I'm recommending it to everyone I know who loves a good read. I truly hope that Stephenie Meyer will write the ...

Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association252 reviews
American Psychological Association

American Psychological Association (APA), 2001

Handbook
I like this version. Smaller, lighter, easier to take. I use it when reading papers and doing mine. However it will be more diserable if they keep the red blod words which make the title and keywords more clear. I know some of the student buy it because the instructors ask them to. But it is really useful even if your major is not psychology.

The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding : The Bible of Bodybuilding, Fully Updated and Revised304 reviews
Arnold Schwarzenegger

Simon & Schuster, 1999

Must be on any fitness enthusiats shelf.
I call this book a must have. One, it's huge. Takes up a lot of space on your shelf. Two, it's huge. It has very good photos illustrating more bodypart exercises and inspirations than most of us will ever use. The photos are all fantastic quality with lots of inspiration. The book is not without flaws. The routines, even the beginner routines, would put the majority of exercisers into a ...
