Sparrow Hawk Red is an excellent book. It is about a boy who's mom got killed in a car accident that was set up by drug runners who were trying to kill his dad who was in the DEA and busted one of the drug runners. Now go on an adventure with a young boy who traveled to Mexico to help his Father and ruin the people who killed his Mother.

Ghost of Spirit Bear
This wasn't as good as Touching Spirit Bear, so I was a little disappointed. I am an 8th grade teacher & I read Touching Spirit Bear to my classes every year & every year they are on the edge of their seats. They love the gore & the message about healing & trying to break a cycle (of abuse). I am afraid they won't find this one as appealing or riveting.

True Story from Guatemala
This is a compelling story of a girl who loses most of her family to the brutality of soldiers. She then witnesses the murder of an entire Guatemalan village, and decides to make her way to a refugee camp in Mexico.
I always enjoy Ben Mikaelsen's work, but this story was especially captivating.
