This one Rocks... er... Wrox!!
Bill, Scott, and Devin really did a great job pulling together key topics in ASP.NET 3.5. This book is huge... weighting in at 1,584 pages not counting the online resources and index. It basically covers everything any developer would want to brush up on or learn completely from scratch. I was only looking to learn about caching for scaling issues( and it was a great chapter 23), but I learned ...

Can be a reference.
This book has got a decent content about XML. But, most pages have been added to technologies that aren't being used much and just adds bulk to the book. A little rhetoric and not always concise to the point; but can live with it. Over all a good reference book. 3 Stars.

Completes the Circle...
I really feel that this book is under rated, it's a great book because it provides an enormous amount of content. I had the C# Beginning book by Karli Watson, one of the co-authors of this book, and even that book had an incredible amount of content in it. However, it really didn't have some of the things like multi-threading, regular expressions, delegates, event handling (callbacks), ...

Lots of information for the money
As a completely self-taught programmer I have reached the point where the beginners' books have no new information for me but I still have gaps in my knowledge. I found this book to be the perfect gap filler. It is loaded with tons of information written in a style that I personally find very easy to follow. Many books as large as this one get much of their size from constantly repeated code, ...

Totally Complete!
I was first amazed at the size of this book. It is large, 1240 pages and not only covers vb.net ... but everything you want to use vb.net for (ASP.NET, Windows forms, webservices, etc). If you want to be a .net developer who uses vb.net, then get this book. As someone said earlier, it also makes a awesome desk reference.

Great Overview of how to develop professional ASP.NET 2.0 websites
It is difficult to find one book that will tell you everything you need to know. I do believe this book makes an honorable attempt at showing you what you need to know to develop 2.0 websites. The book topics range from talking about how to use the new features within the ide to packaging and deploying your finished products. Get up to speed on master pages, validation, themes, membership and ...

Excellent C# & .Net3.5 reference book
I was looking for a solid "all in one" reference book on C# and .Net3.5 additions. This book came head and shoulders above everything else out there. This book has complete coverage of the basics and great coverage of new additions. It even has a chapter on Peer-to-Peer Networking (didn't know it was added until I read this book). Some books on C# focused only on the new stuff or limited their ...

The Complete Book !
I seriously don't agree with the previous reviewer's. The title says it all, it is for "Professional". Not for a kid, who finds out grammatical errors in a book. If you are a Pro developer, you will get the point across and do your work what you need to do. Not crib about the minor faults. This book is a serious book for serious people. The Complete book, I would say. I use it on a daily basis ...

The best book I know about C# 2005
This book can be used to learn C# .net when you have a basic knowledge of another .net language (in my case C++.net and Visual Basic.net). Each chapter has a lot of samples. These can be downloaded, and are perfect base to extend these for your own use. For all subjects I needed the last 2 years I found helpfull samples. The book is also great for a reference.

A Professional Level Book in Every Way
This is a monumental book. Almost sixteen hundred pages of hi-tech stuff. It is not for the faint of heart. It is intended for people who have at least a general understanding of how the web works with particular attention as to how a database driven web site is set up and works. Knowledge and experience with earlier versions of ASP (Active Server Pages) would be very helpful, but so would ...

An awful lot of stuff in one book.
This book could probably be used by the beginning VB programmer if they are at least familar with the basic concepts of programming. But it is really intended for those who have used VB before. This book concentrates on the changes in VB 2005 with special regard for its integration as part of the .NET environment. The book uses Visual Studio 2005, the integrated development environment that makes ...

Good initial VB.NET 2005 with .NET 3.0
This is a great intermediate book but it should have been more focused on new features in .NET 3.0 instead of VB & .NET from beginning to end.

Best book so far for VB.NET
I'd say this is the best Professional VB.NET book so far. I like the the ADO.NET part and VB control part of this book. Better than O'really ASP and VB book.

My clients thank this book since I now deliver faster and more professional work. Not being hung up and learning some good "secrets" was worth the read!
