great little book
this is a great collection of bad reviews and rejection letters of great books and authors. it gives the unpublished writer hope, knowing that authors like dickens and joyce were rejected by publishers. and it's loaded with humor.

Pushcart Prize collection
This is the first time I have seen one of the Pushcart Prize Collections. I find it amazingly broad in scope and consistently outstanding in quality. Since I have become more chronologically gifted (55), I find myself drawn to shorter works of fiction. Not simply because I am busy, but also because each work gives me an insight into another's world. To be able to do this in a few minutes, ...

Excellent resource!
While gathering information on alternative cancer treatments I came across this author and this book. I wish I had started with it. The writing is clear and consise. The author gives background, any substantiating trials or research done on protocol, as well as websites, phone numbers and addresses for products or literature discussed. It's an EXCELLENT resource that I keep by my chair and refer ...

Excellent book
This is a great book for those who like to read short stories, essays, and poems from different genres and authors. I needed it for an Eng Lit class, but I want to own it for myself. Unlike other college books that are sold back to the school, this is a keeper.

Cutting Edge!!!
OK, sorry for the pun, but it's true. Bill Henderson has found a way to provide the best researched PROVEN treatments and CURES for cancers of all shapes and sizes in an easy to read and understand format. While waiting for my doctors to schedule, execute and analyse a biopsy of my neck (prior tests have made them suspect some kind of lymphoma), I started doing some research of my own and ...

Pre-School Teacher
This story shows children that older adults are not what they seem to be at first glance. It is a lovely story of old Charlie. Thechildren in his neighborhood dare each other to go and talk with him. The outcome of this game the children play is wonderful! I really think this is an excellent story for pre-schoolers and younger school children. It teaches them to be kind to older adults for ...

Surprised Again
I'm continually surprised by the stellar writing in this annual collection. I haven't come across a poorly-written piece in here -- poetry, memoir, or fiction. I wish these authors were getting the attention they deserve. I'm impressed, too, by the egalitarian choices of the editors. If I remember correctly, Rick Moody is a contributing editor yet also received an "honorary mention" for a ...

The collapse of this economy in August 1914 and its subsequent restructuring, therefore, created extremely testing conditions for peripheral countries. These conditions and the way in which they were dealt with help to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the variants of the primary-export-based capitalist development which had taken root here. Also, as had happened in Europe, the war witnessed far-reaching political and social changes in ...
