Simply the best!
This is my daughter's favorite book! I got it for her when she was about 6 months old (now 16 months), and I swear i've read it over 100 times by her request! That shows how much she loves this book. Educatioal and Well Written
What a FUN book! My two-year-old son loves this book and I love to read it to him. The words have a great cadence and I find myself singing each page! The pictures are very primitive which is nice (no sensory overload) and it helps young children to learn their alphabet. The story is super cute and the author uses great imagery. Our son, 3 1/2, LOVES this book. He is into anything that is scary...but doesn't want to be scared (if that makes sense). Like Scooby Doo...starts off scary, but there is always a reason, nothing supernatural! Terrific illustrations, educational and surprising! Fun book to read for the adults too. My daughter checked this book out of the library and made me read it to her over and over again. I didn't see the appeal of this book! But she loved it. So for Fire Safety week with my preschoolers, we read this book. They loved it! My god, they made me read it over and over and over again. They followed me around the room and made me read it. We LOVE this book!!
This is a great book to read to antsy kids. My child not only istened, but got very involved with the characters, soon WE were a hippopota-family! Who can resist saying, "Hippopotamama"? The text flows beautifully and the illustrations are playful and just perfect for this tale!
