The Piggy in the Puddle (Reading Rainbow Book) 25 reviews Charlotte Pomerantz
Aladdin, 1989
Best Read-Aloud Picture Book of All Time!! This is my favorite book for storytime reading. Mainly preschool - but I've also had adults keep asking me to read one more page, too.
Charlotte Pomerantz has created a work of art - the ending and internal rhymes, the way she plays and puts words together, the right amount of repetition. This is why people think it's So Easy to write a children's book. This is a deceptively simple title, ...

The Outside Dog (I Can Read Book 3) 3 reviews Charlotte Pomerantz
HarperTrophy, 1995
a grandfather's love Marisol and her grandfather really caught my daughter's attention. My daughter is only 3 years old but was enraptured by the story because she could relate to Marisol and her love for her Abuelito and how he cares for her to let her have the dog in the end. My daughter loves her own "Ah Kong" (grandfather in chinese)and I think this easy to follow story lets her see into another child's love ...

Flap Your Wings and Try 1 review Charlotte Pomerantz
Greenwillow, 1989
Childhood Memories I read this book nonstop as a small child. It was my favorite book and I checked it out of the library and renewed it every single time for two years at least. I don't know why I liked it so much but I do know this book is amazing. I am fifteen years old and I think this book is wonderful for childhood development. I wish it wasn't out of print.

The Half-Birthday Party 1 review Charlotte Pomerantz
Houghton Mifflin (Juv), 1984
great teaching tool! As a kindergarten teacher, I discovered this book to use in my math lesson for teaching the concept of "half". Every time I use this book, the children have a good understanding of what "half" is by the time the reading is finished. A great story with a cozy family and a great teaching tool!

Where's the Bear? Board Book 1 review Charlotte Pomerantz
HarperFestival, 2003
A colorful, exciting book for preschoolers! We checked this book out of the library for son, who will soon be three years old, and it is now one of his all-time favorite books. I just dropped into Amazon.com to order him a copy of the book for his very own. There are almost no words in the book, just enough to help you figure out what's going on. You and your child provide your own story as you turn the pages. My son can tell the whole ...

The Chalk Doll 3 reviews Charlotte Pomerantz
Scholastic Inc., 1989
Chalk one up for the Chalk Doll ! I live in the Caribbean and am starting a Caribbean book collection for my kids. I really liked this book because it wasn't just another very colorfull book, it had a moral to the story. It is about a mother telling her little girl about the kind of doll she had when she was a child and how much she loved it because she made it with her own hands. It teaches a child the meaining of self ...

The Tamarindo Puppy: And Other Poems Charlotte Pomerantz
Mulberry Books, 1993
This book speaks two languages. The 13 joyous poems slip effortlessly back and forth between English and Spanish, much the way many people talk. Each poem describes something familiar--a puppy, a mirror, and a cat, for example--with zippy, natural humor and bouncy, lively rhythm. "Welcome!"--School Library Journal, starred review. Full color.

Thunderboom! Poems for Everyone 4 reviews Charlotte Pomerantz
Front Street, 2006
Thunderboom ROCKS My son received this book as a gift and he LOVES it. At six he is just beginning to explore the idea of writing his own poetry and this book is a joy and inspiration. My son outright belly laughed reading 'The Watched Pot,' and 'Stem and Stone' led to an interesting conversation about life cycles. Some of the poems have a depth beyond him, but that is the beauty of this book as he understands ...
