Beautiful illustrations The illustrations in this book are beautiful as they are made from fabric collages.

Mrs. Moon 4 reviews
Barefoot Books, 2007
well paired book and cd set the beautiful patchwork illustrations of this book are very well matched by the folk style of the songs. though all of these songs are classics, Dana Kletter's original arrangement of them is refreshing in its sound, making them seem entirely new. the gentle tones of the voices and traditional instruments really give a cozy warmth to the lullabies, and really do pair well with the sweet homemade ...

One Moose, Twenty Mice (A Barefoot Board Book) 9 reviews Clare Beaton
Barefoot Books, 2000
Outstanding picture book My 2-year-old son has loved this book since he got it more than a year ago, and I love it too. The pictures are beautiful and fun to look at on their own, but now we like to count the animals on each page. Looking for the cat hiding on each page is the best part of all.

I Dreamt I Was a Dinosaur 1 review Stella Blackstone
Barefoot Books, 2005
Great book! My 3 yr old loves this book. He loves to hear the story and the pictures are eye-catching. There's an adorable little snail that's hidden on each page and my son just thinks it's the neatest thing finding the snail each time we read the book together. I definitely recommend this book for any dinosaur lovin' toddler!

Mother Goose Remembers HC w CD 7 reviews
Barefoot Books, 2006
My favorite book This is such a beautiful book, it sits on MY bookshelf. I do LOVE to read this with our children, 6, 3, 1, years old. Mother Goose offers something to all age groups. All of the familiar poems and stories are here, as well as a few not-so-familiar entries. The best part of the book, however, is the illustrations. The book is exquisitely illustrated with the look of felt patchwork pictures. We all ...

How Loud Is a Lion? 4 reviews
Barefoot Books, 2007
detailed stiched pictures, clear simple text - Great book! Creative fabric collage style applique and fun animal imagery - this book is brilliant, and a great favorite in our house.
waving lion parts creep onto every page and not until the denouement when the lion springs full bodied onto the page do we get to see all of that stalking beastie.
The kids will love searching for the elusive ear, tail or paw, and all the animals are clearly figured ...

Majestic Moose My nieces and nephews loved this book! It is a search for a moose, among all the other animals, with a moose hiding on every page. Kids love the rhymes and the great illustrations. On top of that, the book is educational with information at the back about all the animals mentioned, from the moose itself to arctic foxes, badgers, caribou, and flying squirrels. At Home / En casa 1 review
Barron's Educational Series, 2001
Little treasure This is a great book for children that are growing up in a bilingual environment. It has bright and clear illustrations with the words in English on one page and in Spanish on the opposite page. I got this little treasure for my nephew for his first birthday and he never puts it down. He insists on the book being read to him over and over again. He just points to the pictures in the book so we ...

Who Are You, Baby Kangaroo? 1 review Stella Blackstone
Barefoot Books, 2005
Amazing Illustrations!! I love Clare Beaton's illustrations! This one follows a little dog asking all sorts of baby animals what a baby kangaroo is called. My kids are always entertained by this book, and I could look at her amazing fabric art for hours!! This is actually not my most favorite book to read aloud, a lot of repetition, but it doesn't deter the kids and they start to say it with me. Try, How Big is a ...

There's a Billy Goat in the Garden 1 review Laurel Dee Gugler
Barefoot Books, 2003
A big favorite for our twin 2 year old smarties! They love this book, and it's taught them a lot about billy goats. They have been referencing billy goats a lot since getting the book, and they also really understood that the little, tiny bee was as capable of getting the billy goat out of the garden as the big animals. Beautiful illustrations that they sit and look at on their own. Well worth it.

Zoe and Her Zebra (A Barefoot Board Book) 7 reviews Clare Beaton
Barefoot Books, 2000
Not scary -- beautiful and artistic The illustrations for this book are not scary. The situation for each letter is as follows "(Letter) is for (name) but who is chasing him/her?" The animal's name begins with the same letter. It is possible to be "chased by" an animal and not be in abject terror. It's all in how the parent presents the situation to the child. If you read the book in a way that makes it seem Sita is afraid of the ...

She chooses perfect fabrics and bric-a-brac and felt to embroider together an applique scene for each page. The objects are familiar household items which baby will love to look at, recognize and name with you. This is a dear book you'll pour over with your little ones again and again. ...

The Brightest Star 1 review Alyssa Satin Capucilli
Little Simon, 2003
Such beautiful illustrations What lovely illustrations. The text is not biblical (Mary and Joseph are kind to every creature, ...ok), but the illustrations are amazing. All hand-made with felt and antique fabrics and trims. It looks like you could touch them. Absolutely wonderful. The illustrations pull this book from the three stars I would have given the text, all the way to five stars. After all, I know the ...
