Out of Darkness (Doctor Who) 1 review
London Bridge, 2001
Two great stories and one miss 'Out of the Darkness' is a trio of stories featuring the Sixth Doctor, portrayed by Colin Baker. The stories are read by Baker or his major companion, Nicola Bryant who played Peri in the series. The longest story, 'Moon Graffiti' is read by both, and features a small amount of acting out of scenes as opposed to the straight narration of the other two stories. It is also my favourite of the ...

Project: Lazarus (Doctor Who) 1 review Cavan Scott, Mark Wright
Big Finish Productions Ltd, 2003
Three cheers for historicals. The Church and the Crown is a wonderful second adventure for the new team of the Doctor, Peri and ex Pharaoh Erimin. We find ourselves in the time of Cardnial Richeleu and to nobody's surprise there is trouble between the King, the Queen, the Cardinal and Lord Buckingham with the tardis crew landing in the middle of it.
Caroline Morris does a fantastic job in the part that seems to be made ...

Excellent Survey of Bilingualism & Bilingual Education Baker's book, first edition onward, has been the main text for a number of years in a required introductory course for future bilingual teachers at the university in which I teach. The book has many strengths; it reads well, it has a world perspective on bilingualism, it describes a number of linguistic theories relative to bilingualism, and it provides a clear and thorough foundation for ...

..Ish (Doctor Who) 1 review Philip Pascoe
Big Finish Productions Ltd, 2002
A cool plot and a cooler story The plot turns on language in this offering in the Big Finish collection of Doctor Who adventures as the 6th Doctor and Peri find themselves on a planet where language is the currency and the English language is a treasure.
The murder of a wordsmith and the efforts to find the why and the how drive the plot to its interesting and satisfying conclusion.
This is one story where you really ...

The Holy Terror (Doctor Who) 1 review Robert Shearman
Big Finish Productions Ltd, 2000
All hail the big talking bird! I was never big into the doctor who comic after Tom Baker left, mainly because the later issues were not reprinted in America so I missed the issues with Frobisher, the shape changing Alien who's favorite shape was a Penguin.
Until this episode Big Finish never didn't include the comic companions and other than a free giveaway hasn't since. This episode shows what we've been missing and it is ...

Number Power 1 review Colin Baker
Lorenz Books, 2002
It's not the best book on numerology I've ever read. It has pretty pictures and is laid out in a very simple and easy to read manner. However, it lacks depth. I supposed if you just needed a very vague and general grasp of the subject, something akin to what you could find simply asking a friend. Then this might be the book for you. Was not quite the book for me.

The Alternative Comprehensive Spending Review
Manchester University Press, 2008
As Gordon Brown launches the fifth Comprehensive Spending Review since New Labour came to power in 1997, we might ask ourselves why all the debate about priorities and policies has remained firmly under wraps in the Whitehall village. It was, after all, Brown himself who announced that the Comprehensive Spending Review would be carried out through "national debate" rather than the secretive process which has come to decide our national ...

Outstanding Resource and Reference Book As an investment banking anaylst, one of my primary jobs is build financial models of the companies we evaluate.
