The Mind Parasites20 reviews
Colin Wilson

Monkfish Book Publishing, 2005

Fascinating
In 1994, Archeologist Gilbert Austin returns home after providing a lecture at the Middlesex Archeological Society. Before going to sleep he returns the call of three decades old friend Karel Weissman only to learn from his associate's secretary that he committed suicide. Stunned as they stayed in contact and having no idea what motivated Weismann to take poison, Gilbert is further shocked ...

Shards (Star Wars: Legacy, Vol. 2)4 reviews
John Ostrander, Jan Duursema, ...

Dark Horse, 2008

Great Book!
While it was a little annoying that it did not follow a complete story, Star Wars Legacy: Shards is a great book. It shows the complete story of the Sith's plan and it shows the origin of how Cade Skywalker became a bounty hunter. Not to mention some old characters make appearances.... Bottom line, I would reccomend this book to any Star Wars fan!

Battler Britton1 review
Garth Ennis; Colin Wilson

Titan Books Ltd, 2007

A very British comic
More British than British - one of Britain's iconic characters returned to life by an exceedingly British writer and an artist for 2000 AD. Yet, in the end, it feels like this was written for an American audience. British slang is discreetly translated in the footnotes, and the story - about Allied cooperation in 1942 - is almost defensively critical of the Americans. Still a 'ripping ...

The Giant Book of True Crime1 review
Colin Wilson

Book Sales, 2006

History of True Crime
This book was facinating. I couldn't put it down. It reviwed crime from the earliest times to the present. I never realized that crime was a style of time. Well worth the time.

The Giant Book of Bad Guys1 review

Arcturus Publishing, 2007

Organics, foodies, farmers unite!
In the same tradition as Planck's Real Food: What to Eat and Why, and Pollon's The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals, this was a great read. Harvey takes the reader through the history of farming's last sixty years, stripping away the false understandings that consumers and even farmers have about the impossibility of growing anything without the use of chemicals. With wonderful ...

The Losers (Vol. 5): Endgame1 review
Andy Diggle

Vertigo, 2006

The End
A conclusion to the story. A few unrealistic scenarios but then this is the work of fiction ... Or is it... Andy Diggle and Jock have weaved and drawn fact and fiction so tightly that every conspiracy feels relevant and real. Who are Americas real enemies, foreign terrorist or American politicians who create these situations. One can only guess if and when a movie will be made

The Encyclopedia of Unsolved Mysteries8 reviews
Colin Wilson, Damon Wilson

McGraw-Hill, 1988

An excellent general grounding
The person who reviewed this book before me and said it was a good introduction to the subject hit the nail on the head. And to be truthful, subjects like the Oera Linda book, Andrew Crosse and Time Slips get a pretty good discussion here, written in the Wilson's usual dry yet informative style. A good introduction to weird oddities.

The Occult17 reviews
Colin Wilson

Random House, 1971

Fascinating read
I find that almost everything Colin Wilson has written is extremely fascinating. This book is no exception. I would also highly recommend reading his books on The Outsider.

Mammoth Book of Nostradamus and Other Prophets2 reviews
Damon Wilson

Diane Pub Co, 1999

The Mammoth Book of Nostradamos by Wilson-Editor
For anyone interested in the paranormal, this book will be replete with fascinating stories. For instance, Nostradamos lived centuries ago, yet he predicted the rise of the previous anti-Christs Napoleon and Hister (Hitler). His predictions were chillingly accurate in their portal of time and impact on world history. Edgar Casey made a number of very important predictions of 20th century events ...

The Outsider29 reviews
Colin Wilson

Tarcher, 1987

A wonderful journey through the wonder of alienation
Colin Wilson probably didn't know exactly what he was doing as he wrote 'The Outsider', it seems to be the way that great writers are guided by instinct rather than detached planning. Wilson was obvoiusly passionate about his topic and his later works certainly attest to this. The idea of this philosophical work is to understand the person, who to paraphrase Leonard Cohen 'exists on the outside ...

The Mammoth Book of Illustrated Crime: A Photographic History (Mammoth Books)5 reviews

Running Press, 2002

Now,look at the mess you got us in;Ollie!
There have been a multitude of books written about Crimes,Criminals and the gruesome pictures showing the aftermath of these evil deeds. The authors of this book have limited themselves to crimes where we have photographic records. I don't know exactly when the photographic process was invented ;somewhere around the 1820's or 1830's,I suspect;therefore; this book deals with only the past 175 ...

The Gates of Janus: Serial Killing and Its Analysis17 reviews
Ian Brady

Feral House, 2001

A Great Read
Brady's "Gates of Janus" is one great read. He offers devastating social commentary, and I often found myself squirming as I turned the pages. His analyses of individual serial killers are less interesting (though they do have some splendid moments). A lot of his analysis of the profiling of serial killers seems to have been lifted from the FBI manual. Brady is at his best when (1) ...

The Last Books of H.G. Wells: The Happy Turning: A Dream of Life & Mind at the End of its Tether ((None))
H. G. Wells

Monkfish Book Publishing, 2006

This volume contains the two last works by HG Wells. Nearing the end of his life, increasingly distressed over the war, Wells deals with death and apocalypse, mortality and religion, and with "human insufficiency." Mind at the End of its Tether "One approaches it with awe. You come across references to it everywhere: Colin Wilson, Priestly, Koestler. It seems to have been a wounding work; something no one could agree with, but something ...
