Watchmen479 reviews
DC Comics

Warner Books, 1987

Amazing
Like most recent buyers, I bought the graphic novel after seeing the trailer for the movie. I thought the trailer looked good, but I was not prepared for how amazing the novel is. Never have I seen superheroes be so likable and so unlikeable at the same time which is a testament to Moore's writing. So much of Watchmen is still applicable to today's society, despite it being set in 1985. This ...

Heroes United!/Attack of the Robot Super Friends (Pictureback)1 review
Random House

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2008

Geek Indoctrination
Two, two, two books in one! The blue side ("Heroes United") is an overview of the DC Super Friends toy line characters (Batman, Aquaman, Superman, Green Lantern, and the Flash). The flip side ("Attack of the Robot") does a good job of introducing basic conflict into the SuperFriends universe, with Lex Luthor inventing a giant robot with a kryptonite hand to menace Superman. The thing is, he's ...

Batman Begins: The Official Movie Guide (Batman Begins)3 reviews
Claudia Kalindjian, Editors of DC Comics

Time Inc Home Entertainment, 2005

A MUST HAVE FOR BATMAN FANS
First, ignore the review by the guy from Chile. He can't articulate the language, what makes me think he knows what he's talking about regarding Batman Begins? With any big budget blockbuster comes the inevitable parade of merchandise. Few films other than Star Wars can match the marketing juggernaut of the Batman films. Batman Begins is the long awaited beginning to a new series of Batman ...

The Dark Knight: Featuring Production Art and Full Shooting Script12 reviews
Craig Byrne

Universe, 2008

EXCELLENT!
The script is a fun and great read. I don't understand some of the criticism, we all knew that the script would take up most of the book, 180 pages of the 242-or so pages. I bought this book simply for the script and I couldn't be happier, the art and behind the scene production designs just add to the high quality of this book. I HIGHLY recommend.

The Flash Archives, Vol. 1 (DC Archive Editions)6 reviews
DC Comics

DC Comics, 1998

The Seminal Character That Saved Super-heroes
When police scientist (what we'd call forensics or CSI now) Barry Allen is hit by lightning and bathed in chemicals, he discovers he has developed super-speed, much like his fictional comic book hero, the Flash. Taking his cue from the comics, Allen creates a costumed identity as the Flash, and begins a long and successful super-hero career. I started reading comics after Barry died during ...

Superman The Action Comics Archives, Vol. 1 (DC Archive Editions) (Archive Editions (Graphic Novels))8 reviews
DC Comics

DC Comics, 1998

The Zeus of modern American mythology...
Superman has flown through American culture for nearly seventy years. He has appeared in almost every twentieth century entertainment medium: comics, television, and movies. With such ubiquity and staying power, it's probably fair to say that Superman stands as the Zeus of modern American mythology. Not only that, as Comic historian Mark Waid says in this book's introduction, Superman vicariously ...

very awesome super heroes
This was one great collection of super heroes and villians, featuring the super hero that stopped Bane which I nickname him BANE-DESTROYER knightsend BATMAN, Silver Surfer, SUPERMAN BAtman captain america and the punisher. I really liked all the battles and featuring a mini-battle between doomsday and hulk in which the hulk would have tore apart doomsday. I like all the art work and the great ...

Wonder Woman Archives, Vol. 1 (DC Archive Editions)9 reviews
DC Comics

DC Comics, 1998

Great Hera! What a sentimental time warp!
My introduction to Wonder Woman (or I should say, who I "thought" was Wonder Woman) came in the form of the weekly TV show starring Lynda Carter. As a child in the mid 1970s, I was not only bewitched, but suddenly I was hooked on superheroes and don't think I missed a single episode of WW or the many other superheroes who made their prime time debuts in the 1970s and 80s. For this 2nd grader, ...

Truly A Dark Knight!
I strongly suggest you read the other reviews because they give great insight about this volume and how batman is depicted. I will not recount what the other reviewers have already stated, but I will give a synopsis of what to expect from this archive collection: 1. It reprints the Batman stories of Detective Comics #27-50 2. Issue #27 marks the debute of The Bat-Man and Bruce Wayne's friend ...

Legion of Super-Heroes Archives, Vol. 6 (DC Archive Editions)2 reviews
DC Comics

DC Comics, 1997

The Legion's Golden Age Begins
Although the Legion of Super-Heroes had several years of continuty at this point (enough for five "Archives" volumes, in fact) and many, many years lying ahead of it, this is where the real golden age for these characters began. Jim Shooter, still the whiz-kid writer he was before he became a legendary editor, led the Legion down paths of intelligence and daring that were only beginning to be ...

Legion of Super-Heroes Archives, Vol. 5 (DC Archive Editions)1 review
DC Comics

DC Comics, 1998

Volume 5 is must have for Legion fans
Legion archives volume 5 should be in any Legion fan's collection. This volume introduces COMPUTO, one of the Legion's deadliest enemies and features the shocking death of Tricplicate Girl (well sort of). This volume also contains the famous "Traitor in the Legion" story that introduces Princess Projecta, Nemesis Kid, and Ferro Lad. All of these events are a big part of Legion lore. This volume ...

Return to the Amalgam Age of Comics (The DC Comics Collection)1 review
DC Comics

DC Comics, 1997

Fun for some people
This book, a collection of the second wave of stories featuring "amalgamated" characters from Marvel and DC, is, in short, just so-so. The first wave introduced us to fun characters like Super-Soldier (a Superman/Captain America cross), Dark Claw (Batman/Wolverine), and Amazon (Wonder Woman/Storm). It was a new experiment and a pleasant experience. The second time is not as fun; tons of ...

Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told (DC Comics)16 reviews
DC Comics

DC Comics, 1997

Like the Joker = This is MUST then!
I've always been a fan of the Joker ever since Jack Nicolson's portrayal as the character and what I had seen in the animated series. After reading this collection, I fell in love with this CRAZY CLOWN even more. Also if you are just a fan of Batman the older comics that appear in the this comic collection are great! I loved every minute of it from the artwork to the storylines!
