The Firecracker Boys: H-bombs, Inupiat Eskimos, and the Roots of the Environmental Movement2 reviews
Dan O'Neill

Basic Books, 2007

Stunning, moving, richly detailed
I read this book a few summers ago, and I couldn't put it down. O'Neill's exhaustive research--including many personal interviews--helps solidify this book's place in the pantheon of great historical non-fiction of the 20th century. "The Firecracker Boys" picks up after World War II when the United States government, eager to find peaceful uses for nuclear power, proposed building a harbor near ...

Kobolds Ate My Baby Super Deluxx Edition (Kobolds Ate My Baby)2 reviews
John Kovalic, Chris O'Neill, ...

Dork Storm Press, 2007

KAMB is one of the best RPG's for simple fun
"Kobolds Ate My Baby" (or KAMB to the dedicated fan) is one of the best, simple table-top role-playing games around. The characters are quickly created and fun to role-play. The game is full of humor for both seasoned game veterans and people who have never played a role-playing game before. The humor is entirely tongue-in-cheek and spot on. (All hail King Torg!)

The Firecracker Boys11 reviews
Dan O'Neill

St. Martin's Griffin, 1995

Creepy
I cannot help but notcice how the reviewers which seem to have been deeply disgusted by this book prefer to remain anonymous. Even if their opinion is that nuclear testing should continue, it disturbs me that these reviewers were not taken aback by the colossal mountain of half-truths, misrepresentations, and downright lies that the AEC (Atomic Energy Comission) used to lobby this project to ...

Graphic Classics: Mark Twain (Graphic Classics (Graphic Novels))2 reviews
Mark Twain, Rick Geary, ...

Eureka Productions, 2004

"There was a feller here once, by the name of..."
Mark Twain is undoubtedly America's "Great Man of Letters." A complicated author, he flowed easily through humor, satire, psychological horror, politics, religion, and pretty much any other subject imaginable. He was able to hold up a dark mirror to society, and stare unflinchingly at the organizations, traditions, and political and moral decay that always threaten to drown a civilization. And he ...

Graphic Classics Volume 3: H. G. Wells - 2nd Edition (Graphic Classics (Graphic Novels))3 reviews
H. G. Wells, Antonella Caputo, ...

Eureka Productions, 2005

The Invisible Man and The War of the Worlds
H.G. Wells wrote some amazing stories. There are so many classic tales it is easy to forget that they all come from the same talented man. Of course, he is one of the founders of Science Fiction, single-handily creating many of the sub-genres that can be found within its boarders. The alien invasion, the insane scientist who falls victim to his own experiment, the vision of a dark apocalyptic ...

Collective Unconscious of Odd Bodkins4 reviews
Dan O'Neill

Volcano Pr, 1973

insights for this century as well as the last
I'm fortunate to have picked this book up in the mid-70s when it was first published and before the Disney Empire set out to destroy Dan O'Neill as a cartoonist for parodying characters that had become icons of Disneymerica. I think that's why the book is out of print. I'd like to see a million-reader march on some major publisher to demand that they republish this book. Amazon.com has the title ...

Living on the Border of Disorder: How to Cope With an Addictive Person1 review
Cherry Boone O'Neill, Dan O'Neill

Bethany House Pub, 1992

Coping in the Border
This book is a wonderful assessment of relational therapy and living in community with people who think or behave differently than yourself. All of us live in the "border" around someone who is behaving in ways that we seek to understand. This book gives hope and encouragement and also helps us to realize that we too have a responsibility to "clean up" our own "borders". Very Easy Reading!

Signatures: The Story of John Michael Talbot1 review
Dan O'Neill

Troubadour for the Lord, 2003

Have you ever wondered why John Michael Talbot became Catholic?
I had often wondered why John Michael Talbot converted to Catholicism. I hoped that by reading this book I would better understand John's life and his reasons for becoming Catholic. I was not disappointed. This is a detailed account of John's entire life with a large part devoted to his journey to the Catholic faith and where it has taken him. I found it interesting that as a young child ...

The Big Yellow Drawing Book1 review
Dan O'Neill, H. D. O'Neill, ...

Hugh O'Neill & Associates, 1974

Drawing made easy! Great for children and adults.
This step by step drawing book was great for my family. We got three, one for myself one for my son and one for my wife. I noticed our stick figures turning into real drawings almost instantly. This book goes over theory, and history in step by step examples that even my 5 year old could follow! I would recommend this book to anyone. It's good for all levels, from the novice to the advanced.

Troubadour For The Lord: The Story Of John Michael Talbot1 review
Dan O'Neill

Bantam, 1987

Fascinating and Helpful
Even if you are not familiar with John Michael's most beautiful music, his life story (so far) is a fascinating read. Dan O'Neil does a fantastic job with this biography; it is intelligently written and progresses easily without missing a detail. THIS IS A LIFE WORTH STUDYING. It is also a great book if you are looking for a companion for your own spiritual journey. I think everyone who gets ...

The Last Giant of Beringia: The Mystery of the Bering Land Bridge4 reviews
Dan O'Neill

Basic Books, 2005

The Last Giant of Beringia
This book is a "must read". While the existence of a prehistoric land bridge connecting Alaska and Asia has been surmised for hundreds of years, it was David Hopkins with his multi-discipline approach who pulled the evidence all together. The book, while giving a detailed yet easy to understand explanation of the reasoning involved, pays tribute to a tremendous individual and his work. While ...
