Buy a packet of catnip seeds instead.
The kit comes with a quarter-cup sized ceramic bowl, a "peat pellet" that you soak in water, about a quarter teaspoon of catnip seeds, and a cute tiny booklet with charming info about catnip and a couple tiny pages of instructions. I found the instructions a bit confusing: "After 7 days of cold stratification, place [the peat pellet] in a tray..." It doesn't explain what cold stratification ...
