Dog Breath21 reviews
Dav Pilkey

Scholastic Paperbacks, 2004

In a world of kid's books littered with freakin' butterflies and rainbows
We finally get something that kids can REALLY appreciate- a cute, lovable dog with horrid breath. The story is hysterical, the artwork sheer perfection. My three and five year-olds both love this one. I have to confess I do, too. Yeah, there's a message in here, too... but who cares. Books like this will make young kids love books.

The Hallo-wiener33 reviews

Scholastic Paperbacks, 1999

Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener........
I've always been a sucker for the underdogs in life. This book is about a sweet one who in the end teaches us about the real meaning of friendship. I've learned never to judge a book by its cover. This may look like a typical silly book with no thought behind it, but it's so much more! You see, it's about Oscar the dachshund (or as my kids call it - a wiener dog) who just wants to fit in with ...

The Adventures of Captain Underpants143 reviews

Scholastic Paperbacks, 1997

The Adventures of Captain Underpants (The first epic novel)
Captain Underpants started in book 1. It all began when a mean old principal named Mr. Krupp made 2 students, George and Harold, his slaves for pulling a big prank. Until they got a 3-D hypno ring and messed with Mr. Krupp's brain, and told him he was a famous super hero named Captain Underpants (Even though he had no super powers). So he goes off in his undies and tries to fight villainous ...

The Paperboy13 reviews

Scholastic Inc, 1999

Deliverance
It's a bad sign when a book published in 1996 already conjures up feelings of nostalgia. Remember paperboys? How kids could earn a little extra money by getting that crack-of-dawn delivery job that put a few more coffers in their pockets? Nowadays, many paperboys have been replaced with adults. Adults with cars, no less. Looking back at Dav "Captain Underpants" Pilkey's Caldecott Honor ...

Struggling reader loves the Extra-Crunchy Book
My nine year old book hater loves this book! So it's silly and full of potty humor; IT GETS HIM READING! My brand new copy is now bent and riffled, and it got him interested enough to start reading the "chapter books". Hurray for Captain Underpants!

My son loves this book!
My son is an expert on good children's books. He is now 8 years old and has been listening and/or reading children's books all his life. His sister, too and she is 12. If he likes them - you should read them, too. Since my daughter also likes this book - you should buy an extra copy for a niece or nephew, too!

A Book Review by Brendan
In our world Harold and George are nice. In the other dimension Harold and George are evil. Harold and George go in a potty transporter. If you like funny stuff this book is right fo ryou. You might find something silly in the beginning of every Captain Underpants book.

Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot vs. The Mecha-Monkeys From Mars3 reviews
Dav Pilkey

Scholastic, Inc., 2002

This book is great!
In this, the fourth Ricky Ricotta book, Ricky and the Mighty Robot face their gravest threat yet. Major Monkey is tired of being alone on Mars, and decides that he will conquer the Earth, and to do that he must first put the Mighty Robot out of the way. Can Ricky save the Mighty Robot and the Earth, all at the same time? You bet he can! This book is great! The drawings are black-and-white, but ...

Don't Pop Your Cork on Mondays!: The Children's Anti-Stress Book5 reviews
Adolph Moser

Landmark Editions, 1988

GREAT BOOK FOR KIDS (AND THEIR PARENTS, TOO) !
Dr. Moser gives kids an easy-to-understand look at stress and offers great coping skills in this delightfully illustrated book. I got this book for my children after our family moved to a new city and we were all showing signs of "Popping Our Corks". This book was GREAT! The kids (and mom and dad, too) are still using Dr. Moser's relaxation techniques/coping skills to deal with our ever ...

Fun
I love this book. It is so much fun. I put it out for my fifth grade students and now I can't keep track of it and I constantly have students asking for it. Students are excited about taking it home to read to parents and younger siblings. I am all in favor of anything that makes an 11 year old want to read.

Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot Collection: Box Set (Books 1-4)13 reviews
Dav Pilkey

Scholastic Paperbacks, 2002

My son's first self-read chapter books!
My first glance at Ricky Ricotta led me to dismiss these as less-fun items in Dav Pilkey's enormous backlist (he's the author of the humungously fun and kid popular series Captain Underpants, as well as dozens of other titles like Dumb Bunny, Dogzilla, Dragon, etc...) That's not what my kids thought! I was shocked to see my son Ben (age 6) alone on his bed reading Ricky Ricotta all by himself - ...

Harcourt Paperbacks, 2003

Buy me!!
I think that Kat Kong and Dogzilla are hysterical. I read both books to my friends children, and they did not find them disturbing. They usually request that I read them when they visit my house. I love children's books, and this is one of my favorites. It is highly amusing and clever.
