It is an original!
This book is great because it is an original! You have the original storylines and no additions from other authors. You learn how such a series is made and how important the actors are to bring the action to live.

Great Word Book
This is one book that the Word user should have in their library. I especially like the fact that it is the only book I have found that addresses the subject of field codes in some depth. It is a good source and the explanations are detailed enough for any user to follow. You won't be disappointed buying this book for sure!

Ignore the naysayers. this book is great.
I think most of the reviewers who gave this book a low rating were annoyed because they already knew material covered in the book. Which is the absolute wrong reason to pan a book. I wanted a backgrounder on DSL and info on the variety of ways one could hookup one or more PCs to DSL, and this book does a great job. It also offers good advice on what to look for when shopping around for DSL. The ...

90% writing style and 10% email
This book is good mostly for people who want to improve their writing skills. It doesn't matter too much if they are going to write an email or a fax, because the book covers just some email features. If you think you do need a guide in writing style and grammar, and you send messages by email frequently, you'd like this book. If you want a book with the "dos and don'ts" for email messages, ...

The title is misleading, should be "Using Solaris"
I found this book nearly useless. It primarily focuses on the gui aspect of the cde and OpenWindows, and ignores any of the core/character_based controls so critical to Solaris. "Mastering Solaris" should be replaced with "Using the Solaris GUI". I wouldn't recommend purchasing this book to anyone but a novice.

ISDN for Dummies

Out of date, too practical
Do not buy this book as it is out of date and the information it contains is no longer relevant. This book is aimed at helping people set up an ISDN connection on their PC and showing them how to use some simple software applications such as CU-SeeMe. Nothing more. It has no information on the internals of ISDN whatsoever and the information it contains is out of date. ("Cable modems are on ...

Good for Beginners
This "For Dummies" book isn't meant to get you MCSE certified, rather it gives a beginner to IIS4 (like me) a good, general overview of the topic. I liked how Mr. Angell wrote chapters 1 - 5 not about IIS4, but about how TCP/IP works, the different connections you can use to connect your server to the net, and suggestions about minimum hardware requirements. Most IIS4 books don't even touch ...
