The Fifth Profession 2 reviews David Morrell
Audio Literature, 1993
David Morell finest yet After reading "The Fifth Profession" I have been a loyal fan every since. This book will suck you in page by page and is very just about impossible to put down. I highly recommend this author if you like action and suspense. If you are intrigued by a good book with a twist, this book is for you.

Lessons from a Lifetime of Writing: A Novelist Looks at His Craft 29 reviews David Morrell
Writer's Digest Books, 2002
Like Sitting in on Proffessor Morrell's Class Morrell wrote some of the books that were so mind-enhancing that I wanted to infuse my books with that much meaning. "The League of Night and Fog" and "Covenant of the Flame" were both action-packed thrillers that had a resonance of historical events that shaped an unseen undercurrent of our times. "Assumed Identity" "The Fifth Profession," and "Extreme Denial" hold up as examples of espionage ...

The Successful Novelist 5 reviews David Morrell
Sourcebooks, Inc., 2008
Be CAREFUL! This is a great book on the craft of writing. I believe it is, however, a previously published book under the title "Lessons of a Lifetime of Writing" by David Morrell. For those who have read that book, this is a duplication.
For those who have not already read this book, do yourself a favor and buy it. The reviews under the previous title are excellent and informative.

Brotherhood of the Rose 57 reviews David Morrell
Fawcett, 1984
A very good thriller Several years after reading this book, I remember many passages and the story as it is active, sublime in the art of action thriller. What a class! David Morrell is a great writer of thrillers adding a clear thoroughness to psychological characters.
What a giant!

Doble Imagen 1 review David Morrell
Atlantida, 2001
Spanish Language Version of Morrell's Great Novel Double Image Dobel Imagen/Double Image is one novel where the reader follows the main character, photographer Mitch Coltrane through one storyline for about a third of the novel then moves onto another for the final two thirds. Morrell keeps readers gripped through the pages which they'll keep turning until the final one. There are plenty of twists along the way. A little bit unrealistic in parts yes, but ...

They 6 reviews David Morrell
Amazon, 2006
A Chilling Tale from a Master Craftsman THEY is a thoughtful story with page-turning quality which is well-crafted. I loved the story and how David Morrell brought together the different pieces of a high drama. It kept my attention. Would-be fiction authors (which seems to be plentiful at least in my circles) can learn great lessons in pacing and storytelling from careful study of this Amazon Short. I highly recommend it.

Black Evening 15 reviews David Morrell
Cemetery Dance, 1999
Morrell is a master of the horror novella. Although his novels often include horrific elements, David Morrell rarely deals with the supernatural and macabre in his longer works. Rather, he explores those topics in his shorter work, such as those gathered in his 1999 collection BLACK EVENING. These well-crafted tales, written between 1971 and 1992, are ample credentials for recognizing Morrell's status among the modern masters of horror. ...

Fireflies 13 reviews David Morrell
Thorndike Pr, 1989
A great read This is one of the best books I have ever read. I have found myself reading it several different times over the last couple of years. When I feel that I have lost all spirituality, I read this book and feel whole again. This book elegantly combines love, anger, and sorrow. The reader is able to feel the emotions that David is struggling with.

Extreme Denial 32 reviews David Morrell
Grand Central Publishing, 1996
There's No Denying it, Morrell Books are Always a Great Way to Pass the Time Extreme Denial isn't at the top of the list of Morrell's great work but it is still a very good and very enjoyable read. Morrell has written a similar main character to what he does with most of his work with Extreme Denial's main character Stephen Decker. If you enjoyed Mitch Coltrane (Double Image), Cavanaugh (The Protector) Malone (Burnt Sienna) or any of Morrell's other ex CIA, ex Special ...

Headline Book Publishing, 1993
Very good read I really enjoyed this book as I am a huge fan of his and I liked that he combined characters from his last two books, 5 stars but not quite as good as the first 2.This is the third and last book of trilogy. This book consist Saul Grisman and Drew Maclane characters together where they meet each other in the story for the first time. Be sure to read The Brotherhood of the Rose book first (Saul ...

Rambo: First Blood Part II 8 reviews David Morrell, Sylvester Stallone, ...
A Jove Book, 1985
An underated clssic! I'm surprised that no on has reviewed this book. It's very good. The plot is good, the action is nice and logical, the book is funny and the character's are very developed. Rambo is much more human than in the movie, although he isn't quite as arrogant as he is in "First Blood". If you find a copy of this, you should buy it. It makes the movie even better, since we see what the caracter's are ...

Captain America: The Chosen Premiere HC (Captain America) 4 reviews David Morrell, Mitch Breitweiser
Marvel Comics, 2008
This book is an amazing combination of exciting writing and powerful graphics I haven't read a graphic novel or a comic book in a long time. David Morrell is one of my favorite writers so when I saw that he'd been involved in this project I had to see what it was about.
Boy am I glad I did.
The book is a combination of 6 comics that I believe were previously released individually and that were combined into one hardback graphic novel. The writing is tight and ...

First Blood 54 reviews David Morrell
Fawcett Crest, 1973
What good writing was never known as....what one could never imagine....... With the novel version of "First Blood",you have pretty much the same plot that you got out of the movie,a few exceptions--a former Green Beret of the Vietnam War named Rambo arrives in the small(fictional)town of Madison,KY,finds himself under arrest(what for? That's for you to discover:--),and,shortly thereafter, wages a one-man war. An intruigingly executed concept that you can go far with--or ...

Fraternity of the Stone 32 reviews David Morrell
Ballantine Books, 1986
A great read The Fraternity of the Stone is fast paced and exciting. There is never a dull moment. If you like action books, this is the book for you. I have only two criticisms. First, the book seems to misunderstand the heart of Christianity and Catholicism in ways that make the novel less realistic. For example, many of the characters, including priests and monks, keep talking about "saving themselves." ...
