Fun Projects For Dad And The Kids
As kids, we dreamed of making these projects. We spent hours pooring over the book; but now the members of my family can't find it. The projects were very unusual; the cannon, the pirate ship, etc. I'm now going to have a baby, and my husband and I want to have this book for our children.

Avon Books (P), 1992

On Top of the Tree-House "How-To's"
An excellent guide to building your own tree-house. Simply and amusingly written directions, accompanied by clear illustrations. High marks for the environmentally friendly tips on using discarded wood, and for the book's brown-paper construction. Kudos to Mr. Stiles for writing a how-to guide that is both kid and adult friendly. An enjoyable read even if you are just dreaming about a tree-house.

Huts and Hideaways1 review
David R. Stiles

Contemporary Books, 1977

Excellent source for building ideas
Huts and Hideaways describes a wide variety of structures, from treehouses to domes built partly underground. The tipi, yurt, igloo, and simple framed structures are featured. Directions are detailed, with about 4 or 5 pages for each structure. Sure to fire up your imagination. The difficulty will be choosing which of the models will be your focus.
