Excellent Resource
Reading this book was very helpful with my profession as an athletic trainer. It was very well in detail when it comes to evaluation of an injury and to rehabilitation of an injury. I find this book to be very helpful in different ways. And I find it to be a excellent book and an excellent resource.

A Hodder Arnold Publication
, 2008
First published in 1924, Muir's Textbook of Pathology has set a standard in this subject by linking the scientific aspects that underlie pathological processes, relating these pathological changes specific to the various organ systems, and placing all in context for the student of clinical medicine and surgery. Subsequent editions have retained this popular approach, while introducing novel concepts and taking into account the evolution in the ...

Right on
I did 12 years in the Teams, and I didn't want to like this book. There are just way too many books on SEALs out there. Didn't think the author could add much of value. I was wrong. Don't be mistaken. This book is not fiction. Yes, the characters have made-up names. Yes, the ending is clearly meant to entertain. Everything else is right on, and is as real as I've read. Reading the book ...

In the fine tradition of the Osprey Series
The Armada Campaign 1588 : The Great Enterprise Against England (Campaign, 86) by Angus Konstam, and Howard Gerrard (Illustrator) is written in the fine tradition of the Osprey Campaign Series. It is written in the traditional format and describes the immediate causes and effects of the battles as well as the battle itself. The book is well written and easy to follow. The maps are very helpful ...
Socialist Spaces: Sites of Everyday Life in the Eastern Bloc
Berg Publishers
, 2002
What were Socialist Spaces? The Eastern Bloc produced distinctive spaces, some of which were fashioned from ideological templates, such as the monumental parade grounds and Red Squares where communist leaders could receive tributes, or new factory cities with towering chimneys and glittering palaces of culture. But what of the grimy toilet in the communal apartment or the forlorn ruins left after the Second World War?This book explores the ...

Very Entertaining and Informative!
We thoroughly enjoyed this book during our unit study of the Vikings. I read the whole book aloud to my 8yo daughter and 5yo son over the course of several days. They found it fascinating and so did I. It is written in such a way that it is *very* complete and encompasses a HUGE amount of information on the vikings, yet it is also still very accessible and quite enjoyable. The ...

The British War
This book is an interesting and exceptionally well-done introduction to the British perspective of World War II. Each of the seventeen chapter is a biography of a key British general during this conflict. Some are well-known (Montgomery), while others have largely been forgotten (Sir Henry Wilson). Five generals end up having to share two chapters. Each and every one, though, gets a good ...
The Absoluteness of Christianity and the History of Religions

Ernst Troeltsch

, 2006
This classic should be in the hands of every serious student of contemporary Christian history
Troeltsch struggled for several decades to understand how the role of history and culture affected development of religion. He moved from a view that Christianity was the `absolute' religious view (as postulated in this book 1901) to a view that Christianity was absolutely true, for Christians (1923). Earnest Troeltsch was an inclusivist/pluralist by the time of his death. In "The Absoluteness ...

Great ideas in a Short Read!
I had the privilege of working with David Minter at Blockbuster in the glory years. As he shows in this book, the management team under Huizenga was in `the zone' so-to-speak. It was a great time, and Minter and Reid point out why Blockbuster had that success, and how other entrepreneurs can as well. Highly recommend reading this more than once!
Style and Socialism: Modernity and Material Culture in Post-War Eastern Europe
Berg Publishers
, 2000
This book explores the material and visual world of the socialist Bloc from the late 1940s to the late 1960s. The essays, by authors from a range of disciplines, examine the forms and uses of material objects that made up the environment of life behind the 'Iron Curtain', and investigates the particular ways in which these objects came to represent the often divergent aspirations of regimes and peoples in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. ...
