A Great Start to a Magnificent Series
Awesome! More than awesome! There's no word for this book. This is one of the best books I've ever read, and I've read about 300 books. No wonder it got an award. Luke Gardener, an illegal third child, is the main character of this book. If you want to get more information, read the book!

"Don't Know Much About.." Series is Excellent!
I've read all of the books in the "Don't Know Much About.." series. If you're interested in getting a rather thorough overview without becoming an expert, these books are for you. They are so easy to read, that I couldn't but them down.

Michael Connelly

not bad for a non-Bosch book
This is my 3rd Connelly - Non-Bosch book - and I liked it. It is not Harry Bosch and not the Lincoln Lawyer - but it is a good read. I am ready for a new Bosch book!!!

The Camel Club242 reviews
David Baldacci

Hachette Audio, 2005

The Camel Club is cool!
The Camel Club is cool. They're an odd group of conspiracy theorists, led by Oliver Stone, on a quest for the truth. Baldacci weaves quite a tale that keeps your attention and is full of twists and turns. I thought this was a great mystery thriller with a bunch of interesting characters. This is the first Camel Club novel. The second is The Collectors and the third is Stone Cold.

Ghosts of Onyx (Halo)111 reviews
Eric Nylund

Macmillan Audio, 2007

Outstanding book
Let me preface by saying that I usually do not read books. I never played Halo 1 or 2, but have played Halo 3 and was caught up by the excitement. That being said, I never truely appreciated the story and the need to 'finish the fight'. I decided to buy the 3-pack here at amazon (Fall of reach/flood/First Strike) kind of like a filler to get to $25 to get free shipping. A best buy I have made in ...

Gone for Soldiers101 reviews
Jeff Shaara

Random House Audio, 2000

I like the book and It should be made into a Movie
I enjoyed the book, Gone for Soldiers, because it helps to describe how the American and Mexican soldiers lived and faced during the Mexican War 1846-1848. In addition, it describes some of the battles of the Mexican War, under Winfield Scott, from Vera Cruz to the gates of Mexico City. I hope that this book will be made into a motion picture /made-for-television movie in the future, like Gods ...

Hachette Audio, 2005

Great Read!
One of the best historical fiction stories I have read. i lived in Franklin, Tennessee and to envision the locations described in the book was quite entertaining. It rates up there with other Civil War stories such as ASIN:0312426933 The Judas Field: A Novel of the Civil War, ASIN:0345422473 Gods and Generals and ASIN:0345444124 The Killer Angels.

Executive Privilege CD24 reviews
Phillip Margolin

HarperAudio, 2008

Grabbed ahold of my attention and didn't let go...
Phillip Margolin is one of my favorite crime novelists, partly due to the fact he lives in my hometown of Portland, Oregon and usually places his stories there. I had the pleasure of finally getting to the top of the list at the library for his latest book Executive Privilege. I personally feel this is one of his best novels. It grabbed my attention and didn't let go until the final page. ...

Learn Bridge In A Weekend (Learn in a Weekend Series)1 review
Jonathan Davis

Knopf, 1993

Learn Bridge in a Weekend
I had a ten hour plane trip and exactly ten intensly concentrated hours to learn bridge. That weekend I fooled three rather seasoned brige players that I knew what I was doing. The cards favored me, finesses worked (for the most part) and I appeared far more knowledgable than my bridge experience permitted. This book presents the necessities of bridge in an understandable style of teaching. The ...

When Markets Collide: Investment Strategies for the Age of Global Economic Change33 reviews
Mohamed El-Erian

BBC Audiobooks America, 2008

Unlocking the Credit Crisis
The United States is now a debtor nation to the tune of about $10 trillion (why did I have to find out this amount from BBC America & THE THREE TRILLION DOLLAR WAR instead of from CNBC?). Debtor nations issue & market their debt at attractive rates to nations having a large surplus of money beyond what they require for investing in U.S. Treasuries. Unfortunately, due to an absence of a ...

"This is a Stick Up!"
"Here they come down that dusty road, and muddy bend; Man and woman welded in crime, together they lived and together...they died. Who else could it be?; But good ol' Bonnie and Clyde!" The book entitled, "Bonnie and Clyde A Twenty-First-Century Update" by James R.Knight (with Jonahtan Davis )is... "A killer of a book!" This is a superbly written and researched book. James R. Knight is too ...

Yoda - Dark Rendezvous (Star Wars: Clone Wars Novel)62 reviews
Sean Stewart

Random House Audio, 2004

Five Stars
A great Clone Wars book. We got to learn more about Yoda which is always interesting. Count Dooku has requested a meeting with Yoda. Although Yoda knows its most likely a trap he decides to meet Dooku anyways because Yoda thinks it might put an end to the war. Its was very interesting as Yoda reflected on his former padawan which is very interesting. You have to wonder what a master would think ...

Star Wars: Outbound Flight94 reviews
Timothy Zahn

Random House Audio, 2006

A Zahn Classic
Zahn's Star Wars books have always been my favorites, and this is one of his best. He manages to tie together his own characters and storyline (Thrawn, Outbound Flight, etc.) with the politics and intrigue of the Old Republic from the prequels and even provides a lead in for the New Jedi Order books (I don't hold that against him, however). If you haven't read any of Zahn's other Star Wars ...

Patrick Carman

Hachette Audio, 2008

A very good read
I stopped into a book store one day, and this book happened to catch my eye. It looked fairly decent, so I bought it. That was one of the best things I have ever done. This book is absolutely fantastic! It is so complex and mysterious, but that just makes it more appealing! I suggest you read this book!

Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader (Star Wars)142 reviews
James Luceno

Random House Audio, 2005

The best Star wars book I've read so far
I loved this book it was really well done and gave me what I was longing to know about Anakin/Vader. At the end of episode three I remember wondering how Anakin dealt with his new suit and the lack for compassion he was suppose to have. I wanted to know if the good part of him continued to fight and that is explored in this book so I thought that was awesome. This book made Anakin/Vader my ...
