My hometown
This is a great series of books recommended to me by a friend. I ordered them all, used & new, and received them all in a timely manner. You get to know these people in the stories and think of them as friends, or most of them anyway! I could not put them down and as soon as I finished one I picked up the next one immediately. Enjoy

Like sitting down with old friends
This book is a joy. It's like having someone sit down and say "I remember..." and off goes the story. These stories are funny and poignent and gentle and enjoyable. These stories really capture the spirit of the South- the faith, the strength and the pride. This book has been added to my bookshelves and will stay there and be enjoyed for years to come. I have even bought a few extras for my ...

Cooking in a Can (Acitvities for Kids)1 review
Kate White

Gibbs Smith, Publisher, 2006

Very cute, and useful too
This is a really cute and useful book. It has a lot of color illustrations to make it very attractive for a child to read. Also, the concept of cooking over your campfire -- or over several different types of home-made grills that they teach you how to make -- is fun and different. This actually seems to be book two of a series -- the first looks like it's called "Cooking on a Stick, Campfire ...

Putting on a Play (Acitvities for Kids)1 review
Paul DuBois Jacobs, Jennifer Swender

Gibbs Smith, Publisher, 2005

very, very basic
The excerpts shown hint at some original content, but this book is so basic as have little practical value. Certainly by the time a child can read this book, (3rd or 4th grade) he or she will already have figured out that a towel over your shoulders can be a cape... foil can be made into a sword... put a patch over one eye to be a pirate. And for adults who work with kids? there's nothing in ...

One of the best category romances ever written!
Back in the mid-1990's when Bad to the Bone was released, category romance was in a heyday. Authors were allowed to try different stories and exercise their creativity. Loveswept in particular encouraged innovation. It was a wonderful time to read series romance. Bad to the Bone is one of the best books to come out of category romance during this wonderful time. More Sweet Tea (Thorndike Press Large Print Clean Reads)2 reviews
Deborah Smith, Virginia Ellis, ...

Gale Cengage, 2008

entertaining insightful look at the south
As expected from the Mossy Creek ensemble, this anthology provides an entertaining insightful look at the south. The fifteen tales are well written with each focusing on relationships made better by sharing sweet tea (no artificial ingredients allowed). As this reviewer read two to three tales a night, the charming stories reminded me of the trial scene in My Cousin Vinnie in which Pesci as the ...
