Nightwing: Mobbed Up (Nightwing (Graphic Novels))4 reviews
Devin Grayson

DC Comics, 2006

A break from Blockbuster
Character driven stories are normally not my cup of tea. Without much plot or action to galvanize the reader, they have a tendency to degenerate into a boring soap opera lacking direction or even a reason for existence. This trade is an enjoyable and rare exception. Devin Grayson's writing acumen at creating real people to invest emotions in has fortunately prevented it from sinking to that ...

Batman: No Man's Land, Vol. 142 reviews
Bob Gale, Devin Grayson

DC Comics, 1999

One of the Best Batman Tales
To me, No man's Land is a little less than entrancing. I was hooked from Volume One to Five. To incumpus all the great Batman villains and heroes in one series with such importance, and will testing moments is truly epic. A definant must read for any Batman fan or even any comic fan.

Nightwing & Huntress5 reviews
Devin Grayson

DC Comics, 2004

A Great Crime Story
People are making way too much out of this book's implication that Nightwing and Huntress "hook up." I bought this book because I like these characters, but was bracing myself for some tasteless love-tripe. The situation is barely in the book! Here it is: --------------------------------------- [At the end of Chapter 2...] Nightwing: "...I've been working alone for quite a while now and ...

Batman: Scarecrow Tales5 reviews
Bob Kane, Bill Finger, ...

DC Comics, 2005

Crane before he started spouting gibberish
If you've read the most recent representations of the Scarecrow, you may feel as though they have messed the character up. He just recites nursery rhymes and randomly sprays people with fear gas. He is not a calculating, sociopathic madman with grand ambition. I believe the latter should define the Scarecrow character. That is what he was for nearly forty years. This collection shows how ...

Nightwing: Renegade3 reviews
Devin Grayson

DC Comics, 2006

Loved it.
The title really says it all, but just to emphasize, I really loved this comic. This is the first Nightwing comic I'd read in a really long time and it was excellent. The art in the book was very well drawn and the story was superb. The relationships between the characters is really what sold this for me. Between Nightwing & Deathstroke, Deathstroke and Ravanger, Renegade (Nightwing) and ...

Batman #2: The Copycat Crime (Scholastic Reader Level 3)2 reviews
DEVIN GRAYSON

CARTWHEEL BOOKS, 2003

Early Chapter Book with Comic Book Pictures
Please note: this is NOT a graphic novel! This is an early reader (Scholastic Level 3) with chapters and regular printed page words. The illustrations appear to be from comic books and include dialog bubbles and storyline trailers, but don't pick this up expecting a comic book. My son, a huge Batman fan, loves this book and other books of this series. ("The Copycat Crime" is the second in ...

Batman: War Games, Act Three - Endgame6 reviews
Ed Brubaker, Andersen Gabrych, ...

DC Comics, 2005

Return of the dead
Beware. If you ever receive an envelope from Ra's al Ghul, do not open it. Unfortunately for Batman, it is already too late. Ra's once again uses his private knowledge of Batman's residence to open up a virtual Pandora's Box of mayhem for him, all with the goal of enticing him to provide the means for his return. He can certainly write an intriguing and especially foreboding letter, and from the ...

Batman: Bruce Wayne - Fugitive, Vol. 29 reviews
Greg Rucka, Devin Grayson

DC Comics, 2003

Detection at its' best
This second installment of the four part "Bruce Wayne" saga centers on everybody but him. Babs, Dick, Tim, and Cassandra put on their thinking caps while trying to figure out what in the world actually happened that fateful and tragic night, and as they would eventually learn, the weeks leading up to it. The detective work involved is remarkably detailed and well conceived, with each player ...

Batman: No Man's Land, Vol. 56 reviews
Devin Grayson, Greg Rucka

DC Comics, 2001

This book set the chain of dark comic books, i loved it
No Man's Land volume I, II, III and IV was great, how all the major players of gotham came back and started wrecking havoc with Batman coming back in volume II after the earthquake, that left him there for a long time, but he managed to escape and the Bat is back and greater than ever in this book where the return of Bane and Joker is featured and cast including Nightwing, Oracle, Huntress and ...

Batman: War Games, Act One - Outbreak16 reviews
Ed Brubaker, Andersen Gabrych, ...

DC Comics, 2005

Hold on there
I was never initially a Batman fan and have always been skeptical of the overall basis of his becoming, but seeing a volume with the entire batfamily gave me the impression that it might actually be a worth reading. Buying this was one of the better decisions I've ever made. It updated me in the recent happenings in the Batman universe and left me wanting for more. Although the relationships ...

Smallville: City13 reviews

Aspect, 2007

A+ Masterpiece
If you are a true Smallville fan like myself, you will really enjoy this book. The characters (especially Lex Luther)are authentic..they hold true to the television show. The book is basically about Clark accompanying Lex to Metropolis only having to safe his life from an Asian gang. In addition, Clark finally has a date with Lana but like always, he ruins it BIG TIME. You really need to check ...

X-Men Evolution Volume 1 Digest (Marvel Digests)2 reviews
Devin K Grayson

Marvel Comics, 2003

The best.
This is most of the comics ( or all, I don't know) put into one. It's really good, and for the price to! I would recamend this to anyone looking for some X-Men:Evolution in there life.

X-Men: Evolution, Vol. 19 reviews
Devin Grayson

Marvel Entertainment Group, 2002

Good for both young and old fans
This book collects the first four issues of the excellent X-men:Evolution comic. Unlike some other books based on TV series, this is not a rehashing of what you can watch on the DVD, but independent stories (namely the origin stories of Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Jean in this volume) which complement the series. What I liked best about this book was that it appealed to all ages. On the ...

JLA / Titans: The Technis Imperative (DC Comics Graphic Novel)5 reviews
Phil Jimenez, Devin Grayson

DC Comics, 1999

Great story, eye-popping art!
After reading some other reviews, I had to speak up. If you only enjoy big fight scenes with no characterization, then this is not the book for you. This is a great story, and features every Titan since the team was founded. You can tell a lot of work went into this story, and the author really cares for the characters. Definitely a good read, and great artwork to compliment the story.

Batman/Joker: Switch1 review
Devin Grayson, John Bolton

DC Comics, 2003

Real's the dream
This is one weird story. If this had been written by Grant Morrison, people would be calling it genius. It is pointless to discuss the plot since it is totally over the top and fantastical, perfectly befitting the lunacy of a Joker yarn, and would detract from the enjoyment of one's first time reading of it anyways. This is the type of tale that can be interpreted in many ways and possibly ...

Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu6 reviews
Devin Grayson, Flint Dille

Aspect, 2003

deadly game of cat and bat
In Asia, ingenious but amoral immortal Sin Tzu begins taking control over vast parts of the continent either through diplomatic guile or a blood show of force. His success is so rapid and easy, he feels like a modern Alexander the Great with no real competition to keep him from ennui. However, he learns of the Dark Knight across the ocean in Gotham City and wonders if he might prove a worthy ...

Black Widow6 reviews
Devin Grayson, J.G. Jones

Marvel Comics, 2001

One of the Best Comics Trade Paperbacks Ever! Get This!
This is one of my all-time favorite comics stories. It was originally a mini-series of three monthly issues, collected here, all together, for one price. The writing by Devin Grayson, with artwork by J.G. Jones are career high points for both creators, in this book. This is also my favorite story concerning both of the Black Widow characters in this book; who have never looked so good, never in ...

DC Universe: Inheritance (Dc Universe)8 reviews
Devin Grayson

Grand Central Publishing, 2006

Super Reader
It is definitely a good book. They should let Ms Grayson do some more hero novels, no doubt about it. I even laughed out loud at some bits. She went over some backstory I didn't know about, which was interesting Batman is on the cover, and appears, but it is not a Batman story, so to speak, basically more like this :- Nightwing-Arsenal-Green Arrow-Aqualand with appearances by Batman and ...
