The princess gets a pig for her birthday but the queen doesn't like it. The queen thinks it's dirty. This book is about figuring out ways for the queen to like the pig. I think this is a very, very funny book, because there are three pictures of poo-poo.
I am 9 years old and I found this very easy to read.

Entertaining and inspiring
Dick King-Smith is one of my favorite authors. He writes books that are for children but are equally enjoyed by adults. And this autobiography is no exception. Being a writer myself (though just a journalist right now -- an inspiring children's author one day) his book and his journey in becoming an author was so nice to read. He didn't start out as an author. It was a gradual thing.

One character in this book is the Swoose. A swoose is half goose and half swan (except the swoose's name is "Fitzherbert.") Fitzherbert is the color white. The swoose wanted to visit the queen and see her father who is a swan. I like Fitzherbert and want her to be my friend. She also met a water-vole on her way to see the Queen and her father. I began reading this book in the morning. I finished by theafternoon. Although it's not a page turner, it begs you to readon.
