Piggies is Perfect
When our children were under 5, Piggies was an all time favorite. I must admit that despite reading after reading at bedtime... those Piggies still put a smile on my face. This book is absolutely delightful and funny. Every page has an illustration that is worth taking a few minutes to appreciate the humorous details of those Piggies.

We meet the liitle mouse again (first book is The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear) This time the little mouse finds the big hunger bear has no friends and no presents on christmas. The language is simple and repeptitive, making this a great book to teach Spanish in Elementary and Middle grades. Illustrations are great. It's also a good book for native speakers practicing reading. I use it as a check-out book for English as a Second Language students, to motivate literacy acquisition.
