This book covers all the major cities!!
Vancouver's hip gallery, dining, and nightlife scenes; the art museums and architectural highlights of Toronto; Calgary's wild and woolly Stampede; and Montréal's charming French bistros and cafes. I learned all about Canada's great outdoors, from hiking in the national parks to biking its lovely backroads. It even pointed out the best places to spot puffins, whales, polar bears, moose, elk, and ...

GREAT BOOK FOR PLANNING YOUR VACATION
I really liked this book and it helped tremendously when planning our recent trip to London. I've been there a couple of times before but this was the first time with small children and this book, along with a few others, proved valuable. It certainly provided great budget advise without going too bare bones but more importantly, we found it to provide fair and objective reviews when it came to ...

Awesome Book .... A Must read for any Student of the Bible !
Dr. Erickson in his book "The Narrow Way" brings us back to Bible Doctrines commonly known today as Baptist Distinctives. Through diligent research and pratical application he brings to light the roots of the New Testament Church and her doctrines. I would recommend this book any student of the Bible.

Saved a buck!!
I had an amazing experience on a relatively low budget. I've gone on vacation to various places and spent thousands of dollars but this trip, I was able to budget my money well and experience the best and brightest of London. I feel like I experienced more of the country because I wasn't limited by my budget.

The BEST book I have ever read about personal finance
"HOW YOU CAN QUIT WORK AND HAVE THE MONEY TO DO IT" is by far the best book I have read on the topic of personal finance. I purchased this book back in 1982. Not only did this book cover the practical aspects of money management and investing, but it also covered the much more important matter of developing the proper mental attitude toward personal finance and wealth accumulation. I already ...

Moonlighting meets James Bond meets Sherlock Holmes, sort of
Donald Wandrei was one of the great pulp writers of the late 20's and early 30's. He's best known for his cosmic science fiction and his macabre horror stories, and indeed was a Weird Tales Magazine and Astounding Stories regular. The eight stories in this collection show that he could also write pulp detective fiction with the best of them. His investigator Professor I. V. "Ivy" Frost is a mix ...

Uncovering the mysteries of Canada
Canada is so close to where I live, however, I don't know enough about the destination to truly feel that I will experience all that it has to offer. This guidebook helped me to plan out exactly what I felt would be worthwhile for me. I've got a great itinerary put together in anticipation of a great trip.

Compelling, well-written, with practical business insights
I finished this book on a cross-country flight this week (the book is admirably short and punchy) and I'm still shaking my head over it. The book is incredibly honest about how business change and a down economy had apparently temporarily weakened Accenture's commitment to its workforce to provide training and development opportunities. (Actual quote from the book, when Accenture's Chief Learning ...

The only book I really needed
I have the 18th edition of this book, and I have to say, it's the only book I really needed for my 5-day trip to England three years ago. It had information on good, affordable but nice places to stay, the main tourist attractions in each area, and helpful tourist tips. I bought 3 books but ended up only really using this one.

A wonderful book.
I go to a somewhat conservative boarding school and lent this book to one of my writing teachers, who previously had said that there is no way that a political poem can be heartfelt. This book proves that notion wrong. Normally when people think about politics, they only think about who is running for office, but there is so much more than that in this book. This book should be available in ...

Frommer gets the substance right!
I found this guide very useful in plotting out where I wanted to go, how to get there, and what to visit. It was also nice to know about the student discounts at various attractions. I didn't use it for the hotel recomendations, and I used a few of the restaurant ideas, which were usually excellent choices. I traveled all over Europe (12 countries) using this book, the maps provided, and my ...

Indispensable
I just got back from England last night and took three of the day trips described in this book: Winchester, Dover and Hampton Court. Obviously these guides are somewhat subjective, so I didn't always agree with the authors' opinions on certain things, but the factual information on how to get from London to the destinations was spot on. Their suggestions on obtaining a Brit Rail pass and/or a ...

The best part of Canada!
I am just several days before spending my holiday in British Columbia and the Canadian rockies, and this book really gives a lot of pre-fun. Very informative, very useful information (with places to stay, places to dine, must see attractions etc.) and an enthusiastic style make it a pleasure to read. I am sure that it will be of great value for every tourist who will visit this part of Canada.

Touring Europe? Great Guide!
My husband and I went on a tour of Europe, so most of the work was done for us. This book was a great supplement and had great tips for things to avoid on the tour. It was a quick reference and narrowed down sites to see, so we could make the most of the little time we had in each country. It doesn't seem like it would be enough, though, as your sole guide on Europe, if you're not on a tour.

The most used book on our trip
Of the several books we purchased for our first trip to London, this was the one we kept coming back to. It has great basic information for the first-time traveler--practical how-to information not included in the other guidebooks we had. This book is good to read before your trip. Its time estimates were very helpful in planning our itinerary.

It made me laugh outloud, want to cry, couldn't put it down
From the very beginning I was impressed with the way the author used his words to magically transport me into the book, my mind could see with great realism the actual settings and surroundings. The characters were a great group of friends and enemies. In one chapter I openly gasped when a certian individual fell and not to give the story away felt his pain and anguish. I can't say I have had ...

London for Dummies
Out of 5 London travel books, used this one exclusively during a 2005 visit - it was invaluable. Much more practical (and in-depth) info. than the other guides. Bought the new copy for my trip in a few months. Also, found The London Mapguide an invaluable map reference for traveling on the Tube and getting around on foot. These 2 books are all you need.
