everything you wanted to know about pianos
this book explains the workings of the piano, grand and upright, in great detail. it talks about pricing, negotiating, in great detail. it talks about restoration and used pianos. it gives good overviews about piano manufacturers and their "list" prices. make sure you get the supplement, because the piano prices change every year, and also manufacturers come and go.

Amazing Book!!!
"Well you see, five million years ago the Galactic economy collapsed, and seeing that custom-made planets are something of a luxury commodity you see ..." He paused and looked at Arthur. "You know we built planets do you?" he asked solemnly. "Well yes," said Arthur, "I'd sort of gathered ..." "Fascinating trade," said the old man, and a wistful look came into his eyes, "doing the ...

It's easy to fly, just jump at the ground and miss.
The Hitchhiker's Series is wonderful and quirky. The Main Character, Arthur Dent, is swept up in events beyond his control when the Earth is destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Accompanied on his journey across the galaxy by assorted friends, or at least traveling companions, Arthur learns to take things in stride, the importance of a good cup of tea and to NEVER go anywhere without ...

Beginners look no further!
I knew nothing about TCP/IP. As a result, I bought a book "learn TCP/IP in 24 hours" and trashed it after I bought this book, no more 24 hour books. I had no idea what routing is and were to start looking for documents on the internet. This book is scientific and puts it all together. Each chapter lists the RFC that he relied on so you know were the stuff came from. The book is not boring; the ...

Dragonology
My grandson recently stated that he was "into" dragons. With that in mind this was an early Christmas purchase. Well I have to say that I am thoroughly pleased with this purchase; it almost makes me wish that I was a girl again as any child going through the pages of this book is going to experience an adventure.

In one word, great.
I am going to make this simple. I read an old paperback copy of the original "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Having enjoyed reading the original, I found the "Ultimate" version in the discount section at Barnes and Noble. What a great buy for ten dollars. Not all may like the series. For those that do, I highly recommend all additional books to the original. You will not be let down, as ...

An All-Inclusive Easy to Use Handbook
The title may be a bit of an understatement - The Restaurant Manager's Handbook goes well beyond the basics of restaurant management, ultimately encompassing the entire scope of owning and running a full-service restaurant. In an industry where, as this book points out, a large percentage of ventures fail, a comprehensive resource like this can prove an invaluable tool for restaurant owners and ...

Great book if you want to train seriously for a personal best
I really can't say enough good things about this book. I'll start by saying that having just followed the "below 70 miles per week" training plan pretty faithfully, I just lowered my personal best in the marathon by 19 minutes, breaking 2:50 for the first time. I also actually enjoyed running the marathon, right to the finish, did not hit "The Wall", and sustained my highest weekly mileage ever ...

Breaking Out of Christian Frigidness
Having grown up in a conservative Christian context, sexual activities apart from the Missionary Position were often tainted by feelings of guilt. This book helped to embrace my sexuality and get rid of my baggage of Christian frigidness. But be warned: In this book you will be encouraged to touch yourself, to explore and play, and to - yes - actually *celebrate* sex without a guilty ...

inspiring book
This is a good book to read if you are a serious yoga practitioner or teacher, since it reviews in a simplified way the Yogasutras of Patanjali and Iyengar's point of view on life and life experiences. It has nothing to do with religion, it is just a different take on life that might prove useful and enlightening.

Outstanding History
Excellent book, with loads of anecdotes and personal accounts, at least for the German side. The book would have been even better if the author could have managed to obtain more Soviet first hand accounts as well, but even without them he does a good job of describing and assessing the Soviet side of the battle as well.

Great find!
I ordered 3 books by different authors with bootleg press and was pleasantly surprised to find all three books hard to put down. Jack Douglas' Desperation Moon was the star of the three. Other reviewers have given so many great reviews so I won't be redundant. I look forward to reading more of Douglas' books. Mr. Douglas, thanks so much for sending me an autographed copy of this great book!

An incredibly profound book!
This book is a great read. It is refeshing to be able to read words, thoughts and dreams from people as they perform such honorable duty overseas. This book is powerful and should be required reading for all, especially Americans. Some anti-war activist may think it is "pro-war" but it isn't just that. This book reveals personal thoughts and challenges faced by American military personnel in ...

Better than Stedman's or Dorlands
I have had a Stedman's and Taber's medical dictionary for years (20+) and they had gotten a bit long in the tooth so I bought this book and Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary as I thought Dorland's looked slightly better than Stedman's. I decided to compare definitions of a word in both books and Mosby's definition was impressive enough to have me make the purchase (amiodarone was the word, ...
