Abide with Me 194 reviews E. Lynn Harris
Doubleday, 1999
This is the one that got me started... This is the first book I've ever read by E. Lynn Harris, and I must say that I fell in love with him, his writing style and his characters. Since reading this one, I have read all the rest (this time in order) and Harris never disappoints.

I Say a Little Prayer 2 reviews E. Lynn Harris
Thorndike Press, 2006
E. Lynn Harris does it again! Here was yet another grand reading written by E. Lynn Harris. When I began to read it, I was immediately hooked to the point that I seriously did not put it down until I had completed the entire book in one sitting. Of course I took small respites to eat, etc. but I did not, and could not, fall asleep until I had finished reading it to the end. I cannot wait for the next release.

Beyond the Down Low: Sex, Lies, and Denial in Black America 18 reviews Keith Boykin
Da Capo Press, 2006
Definately a better read than J.L. King's book Instead of sensationalizing the issue, I felt Mr. Boykin was aiming to educate people about homosexuality in black America instead of entertaining the masses. Great book!

The Mystic Spirituality of A.W. Tozer, a Twentieth-Century American Protestant 2 reviews E. Lynn Harris
Mellen University Press, 1992
A thorough and more objective than not work. E. Lynn Harris has a clear interest in mystic spirituality that has driven her to put forth a great deal of effort in this work. It is not clear what sort of religious ties she may have, other than that she seems to express experience in many of the mystic practices which she is writing about (possibly much of it while doing research for this work). This serves to make her relatively objective ...

Gumbo: A Celebration of African American Writing 9 reviews E. Lynn Harris, Marita Golden
Harlem Moon, 2002
Good Idea for Marketing... I love to read books about people like me and I love short stories...this book put both into one and introduced me to a variety of writers I didn't know about along with ones I already did. I ended up buying a couple more books because the short story was so interesting (ex. Douglass Women & Ain't nobody's business if I do). It's a very good source for writers to show off and I thoroughly ...

Not a Day Goes By : A Novel 1 review E. Lynn Harris
Doubleday, 2000
Not A Day Goes By The book was in good condition. However, when I ordered the book it stated that it was a hardcover, but I received paperback. I did not want to pay the amount for a paperback. I should receive a discount or credit towards the purchase of something else.

A Love of My Own 136 reviews E. Lynn Harris
Anchor, 2003
THIS ONE WOULD MAKE A GREAT MOVIE! Several years ago, I was visiting a cousin while taking leave/vacation back to the states from Europe. She happen to have an E. Lynn Harris book called "If This World Were Mine" on the table in the guest room I was staying in. I read it, thought it was a very good book and wanted to know more about this particular author. Mr. Harris has been writing for over the past 15 years, and for the life ...

What Becomes of the Brokenhearted 54 reviews E. Lynn Harris
Books on Tape, 2003
Amazing storu told of someones life At some point I felt as if alot of his friends reflected many of his characters which and while after reading you discover they did lend him inspiration. It must have been very difficult to point out his flaws to his readers , and it was done very well at that. Most people prolly wouldnt want to reveal there past so openly to the public but E. Lynn did it and I can respect that.

On the Down Low: A Journey into the Lives of 'Straight' Black Men Who Sleep with Men 164 reviews J.L. King
Broadway, 2004
All Black Woman Should Read This Book I read this book in one day...I couldn't put it down. After reading this book I was discussing it with one of my guy friends and he told me that he was actually on the down low. I suspected him long ago but after reading this book...I knew and he came clean and told me. We had a lot to talk about and this book helped me understand him and what he was going through. I was truly educated.

Any Way the Wind Blows 165 reviews E. Lynn Harris
Random House Audio, 2001
I'm thrilled that the wind blew in my direction; this is fantastic storytelling I read the prequel to this book, "Not a Day Goes By." I enjoyed that book and wanted a second dose of the author by the name of E. Lynn Harris. Thankfully, I read this sequel, "Any Way the Wind Blows", and was even more satisfied with his creative writing. Harris's style of writing recalls the format of a soap opera because they both jump from scene to scene. In soap operas, this annoys me ...

I Say a Little Prayer, a Novel 87 reviews E. Lynn Harris
Books On Tape, 2006
I Say a Little Prayer: A Novel Ive been a little down on myself lately, spending too much time worrying about career and family. I decided to pickup this book that I've had on my desk for about 6 months on Friday night. I didn't put it down until about 5 am Saturday morning with a new found sense of hope and peace of mind. Like the old people say "TAKE IT TO THE LORD IN PRAYER" Thank you Mr. Harris for reminding me of that ...

Got to be Real: Four Original Love Stories 129 reviews E. Lynn Harris, Eric Jerome Dickey, ...
NAL Trade, 2000
One story actually lives up to the title! While the short stories by E. Lynn Harris and Eric Jerome Dickey are interesting and indicative of the authors' places at the top of the best-selling lists, Marcus Major's "Kenya and Amir" is, by far the best of the lot.
Beginning at the breakup of a relationship, the story then flashbacks to the beginnings of the love affair and the ultimate rift that tears apart the bond between the title ...
